I agree with you, ludicrous rule. That said it is equally ridiculous if not more so that that there are different scoring systems in SL and the lower leagues. My solution would be to scrap it in SL.
Games not played don't count - only the % rate from wins(100%) and draws (50%) as a total % of games played.
Which makes London's decision yeasterday, to cancel their game against Toulouse, appear to be them trying to game the system.
Thankfully the RFL have insisted that they forfeit the match.
This is becoming confusing when I thought it was a simple concept the league is based on percentages win of games played and to qualify for playoffs you have to have played 16 (?) games, but if you don’t complete 16, the percentage is taken on games played and missing games of the 16 taken as losses if you take points won against points available that gives you the winning percentage a far better system than the RU idea of awarding points for missed games, working against a team that were Covid banned
If you don’t complete 16, you can’t play in the play-offs. Nothing else comes in to it. The win percentage still works the same, just off 16 games.
are you sure of that – that’s not what I read – if your % is high enough taking missed games as a loss you can qualify
I've not seen or heard anything that matches up with what you're saying - have you got a link?
