@royston-vasey I don’t know who is in charge of bringing in outside investment from companies/sponsors

Think we should at least look as added investments would make us stronger and more competitive.

@pascal well yes, but if we don’t have an appointed position we can’t be maximizing our reach into external investments. Is it possible we don’t know how to tap that market efficiently/effectively with the current CEO? I’d like to see a person employed by the club who can take on such a role, hopefully with experience

The club did advertise for a Commercial Partnership Manager earlier this year. Not sure whether that post has been filled. Steve Roberts was appointed as General Manager too.

Bring back Dave Rolt! Didn't he look after the sponsorship side way back?

@frankg maybe we need a commercial partnership manager more than a general manager?

@pascal I agree with you Pascal but I’m pretty wary about people who have invested in us in recent times (Vaughan) and even more wary of the ones who said they were going to invest and then found a reason not to Backhouse about 2 or 3 times, Koukash).

I think the last major investor was Tony Chambers who loved the club and had its welfare at heart.

I’d love someone like Beaumont who has stuck with Leigh and has never shied away from putting his hand in his pocket. Fair play to him - as has been said, Leigh wouldn’t be where they are without him. Trouble is there aren’t many like him knocking about wanting to invest in the game these days.

Your bang on mate as Vaughan and Ste O Connor definitely where bad eggs, and they had money Think Koukash and Backhouse just wanted to pose that day at our ground. I just think we need a money person if we want ambition at the top table. But I do understand your viewpoint though. 👍🥖🥖

Koukash was at the 11th hour as he saw the fan base would buy in more than they did at Salford. The issue was council won't sell the ground so would lose out financially

need to be contacting Jim Ratcliffe (ineos) worth £10 billion. He is clearly interested in getting into sports, British cycle team on world tours, F1, looking to buy Man Utd. the company have a base in the borough and if they could throw few million a year at Widnes I’m sure we could get into SL ala Leigh then compete in SL and challenge for trophies. The players we could bring in, get rid of the fake pitch. Few million to them is pocket change and way cheaper than running the cycle team, sponsoring F1 and much cheaper than buying a premiership club.

It seems a good all-round balanced portfolio.

I think people are being very generous to the club here! I’ll be fuming if we’ve allowed Doro to go to Fax! What the hell are we doing here if we don’t want to keep players like him in the team? 100% effort and a fair chunk of skill and talent is what we want and need and the work that Eribe had put in for this club whilst on loan was phenomenal!

if it’s true he’s gone to Fax, then that is a real let down!

Absolutely shocking decision and we bring in lard arse Walker to replace Doro. Whoever made this decision needs there head testing, as Doro worked hard and will come better.
