With Gilmore and Owens on that pitch we would have won by at least 30, you know, those two players that are shite and need moving out?
Anyway, the only thing I can think is that we don't train for situations like that. We kept on playing dumb rugby as if we were 13 v 13. Foz was scooting from the ruck far too much, Edge wouldn't back himself enough, when 10 yds out, coming into the line. We have a knack of running out of pitch width due to the slowness of the passing. All these things can be ironed out, but they need to plug the iron in quickly.

@viking25 We have 25 of our own players. We have signed Lawton from Oldham, Condon from Australia who has played NRL and had a SL contract with Leigh for this season until he was injured and that lad from Wigan academy who was playing in Australia.
Not to mention recently signing Maizen who was rated as one of the best outside backs in the Championship. Plus Will Roberts on loan from Saints who looks useful at half back.
Recruitment has been very poor yes, but that was a decent side today and in Lawton and Condon, at Championship level good signings. Against 11 men for an hour absolutely no excuses.
What a shocking performance today. Completely lacking in leadership and ideas. Doncaster were by far the better team, even with 11 players.
How we managed to lose the game after clawing back the lead, was disgraceful. Do they not know how to close a game down, as Sheffield did.
Too many stupid defensive errors and clueless⁰ in attack. Why persist in one man rugby up the middle when we had a 2 man overlap? Has Bent ever actually broken a tackle or made an offload, although he was not alone.
Do you think we should ask Bradford to send 10 players next week to give us half a chance?
Anyboby know what the attendance was?
“widnesrl We're pleased to share a positive update on Jake Maizen following the incident during today's match which saw play suspended as he was stretchered from the field.
Jake has undergone medical assessment and we can confirm there is no neck fracture, which is a huge relief. He has, however, sustained a concussion and some muscular strain in his neck.
As per concussion protocols, Jake will take the necessary time away from training and competition to ensure a full and safe recovery. We'll continue to support him throughout his rehabilitation and provide further updates as needed.
We thank everyone for their concern and well wishes for Jake”
One very lonely man was the referee who, iirc, waved 'play on' after the crowd reacted immediately to the tackle.
But apart from that there were times in the second half when we were in possession with nobody in the Doncaster half of the field! Surely a good 'boot and chase' would have been in with a chance?
Anyboby know what the attendance was?
2722 according to the website match report....be nice if we got 3000+ against Bradford but can see us losing more home walk ups from yesterday.
Good news that JM isn't as serious as first feared.

What is disappointing about that number is that Halton Housing gave 1000 tickets to the schools. You could see how many took advantage. They are also doing it for the Bradford game👍👍
Just seen the highlights from the game if you can call them that, how slow and poor we are in attack in unbelievable and some of them defensive efforts are appalling. There’s alot of work from Coleman to do but we get the same old response from him week after week excuse after excuse it’s just not good enough starting to get very bored of his approach, We have no attacking play or moves and just play dull one up rugby the same as last season we might’ve made the play offs but we lacked any creativity, how much longer does he get just based on the fact he finished 5th last year. We’ve clearly got worse and he’s obviously had the boards backing with the signings he’s made and chosen am sorry but this is all down to him. Injuries aside we should not be losing games at home to a team with 11 players it’s embarrassing yet the club stays silent again.
Where can we find out the punishment, if any, meted out by the RFL to their red-carded players, and the outcome of the incident put on report?

I think they are dealt with on a Tuesday, and are on the RFL site IIRC

According to the League Express the ref 'immediately' sent off Gebbie!
If he did why was the ref marking the line for play to continue? It looked like it was 'play on' , the ref not seeing the tackle.
The main reason for stopping the game was the Doctor and others coming on and taking action!
The ref immediately sent him off, when the game resumed a hour and a quarter later. Someone must have had a word in his ear, or he’d been shown video footage of what happened.
John G. The board leave the recruitment to Coleman, any players he recommends we sign, we do, if we can afford it.

I reckon our league average is 2485- so a bit up on that but still not the best.
