Has confirmed via twitter he is leaving at season end ...going to be the first of many...great player in his time..people forget how loyal he's been..could have left a few times but stuck by us ...once great player sadly plauged by injury ...cue a league one half replacing him no doubt

Been a good player and a loyal servant to the club. Great? Not a chance

Good player and servant, pity he couldn't play today.

He looked devastated as the teams lined up with families before kick off (not being able to play). Thanks Danny. Good luck.

Deserves a lot of respect from us fans for choosing to stay and fight for his place after being loaned out to Halifax and Featherstone. Not many players stay at one club for as long as he has nowadays. Wish him all the best.

Been a loyal player. I believe he had options to leave but stayed with us. His injuries were his biggest issue throughout the years but that’s any sport. He is probably one of the best number 6 in the championship on his day.

good luck to him in his future career

Looking on the Oldham forum and there are some already charging their new signings as coming in 'just for the money'!

Best of luck lads!!!

LOL. Why else would they want to go to Oldham?

Well I know one of the players very well who is going to Oldham and it is for money and to sort his family out. Think about it Craven and Lawton are around the 30 years old age or over. Craven been a great servant, but is prone to injuries now and they be lucky to get 10 games a season out of him.

Simple financial decisions... otherwise why would you drop to the 3rd tier ...from what's been said both wanted to stay by choice but were told they'd be only offered a one yr deal on less money than this season..bssically low balled...and by all accounts Oldham have offered them two yr deals on similar money to now...no brainer and can't blame them ..but on the flip side I can understand the clubs position...Danny is injury prone ..Adam is either class or beyond dreadful ..n farnsey just isn't the same player but had youth on his side ...again it isn't who goes it's who you replace them with... particularly craven

Craven will be able to play in a Tuxedo next season, with Lawton & Farnworth running it in against the shite in that division. Aaron Brown will piss the no.13 role.

Paulie xx

Adam is what Adam has always been - full of potential but not really bothered to maximise it.

Farnworth could improve as long as he has help around him. He has stood out this year because his pack mates haven't taken their share of the graft.

Loyal player who was able to bring a spark when on his game. Unfortunate as the seasons have gone in his body hasn’t been able to compete at the expected level consistently. He goes with best wishes doing what’s best for his family and for himself at this stage of the career

@scouseviking55

I recall that even Andy Gregory left under his own steam.

When asked 'why?' he said that he saw David Hulme chasing hard and he didn't want the coach, a mate, to have to tell him that he was redundant!

Well nobody stays with us for the chance of glory anymore, as even the playoffs seem further away as each year passes, so at the end of the day its down to money and length of contract, since a fair few seem to be going to Oldham there should be car share opportunities too. As has been said Danny has been a good player for us, our first Superleague try scorer on our return to SL and usually managed a show and go try every other game, tigerish defence too, for someone of his slight build. Sadly injuries have caught up with him and the breaks have got fewer and fewer.

Whilst we deride players dropping down to Championship one, it may suit players in the twilight of their careers perfectly! Best of luck to Danny and the rest.

You've got to hope (and I dont say this with any confidence) that we bring in some decent replacements. No doubt a few more outgoings and incomings will start to be announced!
