RL journo Matt Shaw reporting Danny Craven has been approached by Oldham.

Widnes may have a fight on their hands to keep him.

Just a reality check of where the club is currently at.

So when the board fudge off as you put it what happens to the club....they own it.....Unless someone is willing to buy them out and they are willing to accept Widnes will no longer have even a semi pro team.

Lets hope someone like Luke Backhouse can be persauded back since it was the previous regime that tried to rip him off and nothing is happening with the Liverpool RL team he and Koukash were looking to start.

DC will be 32 next season, not played well in the last 2 years; good player in the past but perhaps telling Oldham are after him not a Top Half Championship Team.

If we folded last time we would be in a far better position than we are now. Here's hoping eh

I hear he is not the only player off to get Oldham - the Keighley of the northwest !
he has done his bit, too old and too fragile now

thanks Danny, we move on

Bang on Craven is like biscuit now and I be looking to get rid of several others too who don't perform. Jack Owens and Lyons for starters.

Yes I agree, Danny has played well and been a good servant for the club. But he will be 32 in November and has missed a lot of games through injury.  A move to League 1 next season could suit him at this stage of his career.

With the way the team has struggled this year the club could already be planning on bringing a new stand off in to play alongside Gilmore.

My guess is that they will shift Fozzie to stand off alongside Gilmore with Forber taking over at 9. It will give Forber the game time that Wigan want him to have and it sounds as if he is ready!

More widely there are a few of our squad likely to move on I guess and it will depend on where we finish who we can attract for next year. The plan for his year didn't work, mainly due to injuries to key players like Jack and Danny breaking the formation and our inability to pull together a pack that could withstand the opposition.

Farnworth has worked so hard but, in all honesty, should have been better supported in the prop area to avoid the injuries that he has sustained. He may well prosper next year in a better squad here or elsewhere.

You appear confident Fozard will be here next season? Are you his wife's uncle by any chance?

Paulie xx
