That could be down to trying to fund a side with less money than you need!  There is obviously something that stops our effort at some games, we are not consistent and no coach yet has explained why. Wire have had a similar problem for years and have spent massively on players etc to try to break the habit.

Maybe someone who tells it as it is is what we need? Maybe the 'bang for your buck' was the message, signing players with 'pedigree' that aren't consistent with their effort is just as bad as signing 'no marks'.

If rumours turn into facts it will be interesting to see how Oldham fare next year!!!!

For a while now there has been Fozard regularly playing up to his reputation with many more barely reaching their peak one game in 5!!! That just isn't acceptable or sustainable.

This is what it comes down to, Wigan Rugby league Club filed their accounts recently showing a loss of of £1.2M (Down from £1.7 in the previous year).

They've lost over £1.2M Million, they are insolvent by almost £9M.

https://find-and-update.company-information.service.gov.uk/

Searchy for Wigan Rugby League Club Limited for full details

In that year, they received loans of £1.4M and repaid £190K from/to Lenagan Investments Limited, they now owe that company £7.5M.

To get to the top, the clubs are spending beyond their means and owners are funding it by loans, not sponsorshio or income, just a loan that they plan to get get back.

I'm sure most of the other top teams in SL will show similar results.

Its time for Superleague/the RFL/IMG to get this under control, loans should not count towards salary cap. loans should not pay for day to day expenses (players and staff wages, rent etc)

If they can loan the money, put in as sponsorship so they can't reclaim it.

Not sure what to make of all this really. We could have Mother Theresa, the Dhali Lama, Ghandhi and the Virgin Mary running the club and somebody would call them twats!

They are!

Paulie xx

@martin no, he's posted again saying he still believes we can get in the play offs.

Hate to spoil a good moan, but he actually says in his most recent post is that he hopes we can finish the season on a positive note at Featherstone. No mention of a top 6 finish as far as I can see.

I think it may well be wishful thinking, as my guess is that Featherstone will want to win their last home game of the regular season, but may rest a few players for the play-off games.

Not sure why Hamilton chooses to put post-game comments on line (with his tag line "I hate [or love] rugby league", depending on the result), presumably in a personal capacity as a "fan", when the Club's communication with fans is almost non-existent.

We are pretty sure that we wont like what he says, unless he has found a 'money tree'.

In truth that maybe what the Board signed him for. Nobody on the Board, as far as I know, has run a club before and that leaves them wide open to being taken for a ride. Hamilton has that knowledge and can advise the Board where the pitfalls are.

They had inherited Finney but some on this site were plainly unhappy with him, so the club needed a new advisor. I have never met the bloke and he maybe a bit 'straight' with his opinions and that can be upsetting.

But then again maybe that is what we need, some straight talking behind closed doors.

We can all paint our own picture but in the end only time will tell!

We have time now to see what he can actually do;

Season Tickets....surely got to be frozen given the inadequacy we have seen?

Signings....names haven't sent pulses racing but if the number to be leaving is high then need a large incoming, can proper quality be provided?

Communication....simple posts building up to signings, maybe a bit of creativity with signing videos or memes (IMG will like this)....plus more meaningful communication about the goals and drive of the club.

New kit.....kit/meet the players and new coach event?

Match Day prices.....too high for the floating spectator?

Let's see if he(&others) are up to it....

@erik-the-red he's never been Mr Oldham. He brought our once proud Club to its knees and we're so so glad he's gone.

@tonyvikinggee think you've got the wrong Hamilton there. He wasn't social at all, didn't drink and is a complete a**ehole.

Reading the earlier posts, where people who met Hamilton and he told them a pack of lies, just shows what an absolute cretin he is.
