The bookmakers have Widnes to finish 7th in 2022 outside the play off places! They have Featherstone to finish top followed by Leigh. They have Halifax, Bradford, York & Newcastle making up the other play off places.

I think it will be tight but still think we have a good chance of finishing  5th or 6th but no higher than that.

Halifax are not a bad price, they've signed well IMO.

Re: Newcastle, being full time isn't the be all and end all, as we well know, particularly  as Denis Betts is involved there, can't see them doing much.

Should be a very competitive season, looking forward to it.

Full list of odds

Featherstone Rovers – 6/5

Leigh Centurions – 2/1

Halifax Panthers – 10/1

York City Knights – 12/1

Bradford Bulls – 14/1

Newcastle Thunder – 16/1

Widnes Vikings – 20/1

London Broncos – 25/1

Batley Bulldogs – 40/1

Whitehaven – 66/1

Dewsbury Rams – 80/1

Barrow Raiders – 100/1

Sheffield Eagles – 125/1

Workington Town – 150/1

Thread not much use without the actual odds - these are supposedly on offer with Skybet. 10-1 Halifax looks as good a shout as any though I reckon Fev are strong favourites and will be hard to beat. I couldn't really argue with our odds. We will probably finish above at least one of the teams at shorter odds but I wouldn't be rushing to back us at 20-1.

This is a disgrace. Finnegan should be sacked!!!! Thought I would start the sack Finnegan post early.

Will Beaumont go into melt-down again if they are not promoted?

I reckon we will finish in a play-off spot.

Pascal feels passionate and thinks this Widnes side will surprise a few teams. Pascal knows his stuff, and I have a few flowers for Sunny my lover who will agree too. 😍 👍💐

York were well fancied last year and were poor, so I'm not convinced in their value.

As for us, probably about right in the sense that we would be a lower end Play-Off team if we did qualify...

Bit of a Newcastle love in because they have gone FT, but not convinced by them either.

It is absolutely vital we finish in the top 8.

If the divisions split to 2 divisions of 10 teams, we cannot miss out on the second tier.

I agree we should be aiming for the play-off position. Anything below that would be disappointing to say the least and could see the end of professional RL in Widnes and many other areas.

To be honest, I think the Championship and L1 clubs should refuse to have anything to do with this move, which is just a cynical ploy to protect the Sky income for  the top clubs. Before backing any such change, the clubs should be asking about what arrangements are in place for the 16 clubs dumped out of the game; and how the Sky money would be distributed between the two Divisions and the rest of the game?

I cannot see the SL clubs nor the Championship ones being happy with only 9 Home games a season. It is not financially viable.  I am amazed it has not been discarded by now. It is a stupid idea.

Batley might be a bit miffed at their odds compared to us, Newcastle and London based on last season!

Agree with that. If anyone was offering evens Batley to finish ahead of London I’d consider it the equivalent of finding money on the street.
