Board Communication

When the current board initially took the club over they stated they’re would be more communication and transparency…Apart from a few monthly meetings I’ve been really disappointed by the lack of information. As supporters I think we are realistic when it comes to expectations of where we should be at the moment and the expectations are not being reached by a long way.Why are we being out recruited by the likes of Sheffield and Batley on a regular basis When with a decent side we could be attracting crowds of 3-4000 easily? If it’s a matter that players don’t want to come to the club because of the surface maybe it’s time to stand up to the council and say that the club would be looking for alternative places to play if grass is not reintroduced. If Widnes Vikings leave the stadium it become a white elephant,A ground share maybe an option if an agreement couldn’t be reached,But would people be prepared to travel out of the town.Lots of questions that need to be addressed if the club is to move forward.

I agree the pitch needs looking at definitely but if you look at Sheffield for example they have the same surface and a lower fanbase and can still attract some big name signings and get quality players through the door, and I find it hard to believe they outspend us. Big clear out needed at Widnes and a proper fresh start

Talking of communication… has anyone seen the clubs LinkedIn posts…? Some very odd and a little concerning posts. No names on them too

They are very odd. Surely they have been written by a fan without the knowledge of the club! If that’s any sort of official report it is very embarrassing.

@mt looks official as a lot of staff and players tag the account as work

Just read the posts on LinkedIn. They do seem to be a personal view from a fan, but very much mirror the comments on here. If, as suggested, the comments sound like the ramblings of a 15 year old, I guess there must be a few 8 year olds posting on here!

Is anyone certain that it is an official Widnes site? Maybe another question for the club to answer at the next fans forum.

I'm surprised and somewhat disappointed that we haven't had a proper statement rather than a couple of lines from CH. I know we all had our fill of Jimmy's statements but this is an appropriate time and place.

I would personally like to hear from the Chairman, CH is an employee like JK was....

The “official” Widnes Vikings LinkedIn posts are very similar in content and structure to that of the posts of Christopher Hamilton on LinkedIn…

Yes, it certainly seems to be the same author of both posts, but the message is valid coming from a “fan” travelling to Whitehaven after another abject performance. I wonder what he thought about the performance against Swinton?

So it seems the Club have an official Widnes Vikings web site, which is the only site I actually look to for information, but does seem slow in posting news; but also appears to have official sites on Facebook, Twitter and Lindekin with comments. There was me thinking the Club didn’t communicate with fans, well at least those who access these sites!

So in short you think some knob has posted that 🤣

@mick-george No. Just a post that reflects the views and frustrations of many fans. Why it is posted anonymously by Chris Hamilton or anyone else from the Club on Linkedin or any other platform, is another question.

I'll take that as a yes then.

Those LinkedIn posts are written by Chris Hamilton, as WV says, mirrors what he posts on personal account.
