That was the day when at 3.00pm, you had a P6, W6 record, and we were on P6, L6, but by 4.45, both 100% records were in the history books!

We beat you at Runcorn (1991?) when the sun was cracking the flags, and I don't recall anything since for us to smile about, but Widnes v Swinton clashes, have not been that numerous in the intervening years.

Gonna be interesting tomorrow!

Come on you Lions!

Spelly.

Yes. Maybe two seasons.

Apparently Swinton won at Widnes 34-12 in July 1998....

On that note we used 44 players that season!

Hoping that Swinton's bad record against us continues, but this must be their best chance to win against us...

We beat Swinton 34-18 in 98.

Lost the away game 11-44.

1) We beat Swinton 34-18 in 98.    2) Lost the away game 11-44.

1) I thought I couldn't remember us winning then, when I first read it.

2) Was that the time when Sean Long stood out like a sore thumb for you, or we'd have stuffed you by even more?

Sorted it, or at least my mate Steve Wild has!

Amongst his many titles at the Lions, one of 'em is club historian, and after checking his records, he informs me thus..................

10.08.1997 at Runcorn, we won 28-24, then.................

We came to Naughton park twice the following season. You won 34-18 on 13.04.1998, but we gained revenge on 15.07.1998, when we came away smiling after a 34-12 triumph, but..............

That's still the thick end of twenty three years ago, so we're (well) overdue a win at your gaff! We'll see what unfolds tomorrow!

I thought that had been what I had read 😂

Predictions for today then?

Not a good game:

Widnes 20-16 Swinton.

I hope....

It's impossible to call in my opinion mate!

Two out of form teams going head to head, so anything can happen!

Naturally, I'm hoping for an away win, but not holding my breath!

I was reasonably confident of a win but Doro is a big loss with Cook and Jewitt still out. We need to start well and get on top because once again we won’t have a strong bench. Widnes by 8 my tentative prediction.

Predicting a scrappy unimpressive win to paper over cracks for mr finnigan 22-16 if he loses this it is hard to see him take charge of to many more games even finey would have to bite the bullet surely

I’m confident we’ll win this game, despite Doro and others being missing. The weather and our pitch will suit our lighter and faster players with Jack leading the way, and after what’s gone before things can only get better.
