Chance for the club to go with back to back league wins since round 1 and 2 of the season. Sounds terrible when put that way!
Batley not had the ‘coach bounce’ as expected when bringing the OAP back in.
Thoughts for Sunday? Are people fussed? Or have people accepted the season is pretty much over and we’re just trying to gain some respect back before seasons end.

1) Batley not had the ‘coach bounce’ as expected when bringing the OAP back in.

1) I must admit that I thought there'd be an upturn in their form, but not yet.
2) You're in the bit between the two dotted lines, so are you now just in the "fulfilling fixtures" scenario? I'm sure before a ball was kicked, most (all?) of you would've expected a better position on the ladder than you currently occupy.
You should win on Sunday, but I've gone for you in the Prediction League, so will that be a killer blow? 🤣
Spelly.
Need to win to build momentum for next season. We have a run of fixtures where hopefully we can get a good run together.
We are only 3 points behind both Barrow and Halifax with a game in hand.
We should be aiming to try and get 7th which isn't great but it would have some positivity going into the off season.
Expecting a scrappy win, Widnes by 8.
The season is over for us, we may win most of the games but won’t make the playoffs. It’s another season where we’re underachieving as a club but I hope 🤞 we can improve the squad in the off season. We still don’t know what the league structure will look like next season but I think the gap between super league and championship will grow massively now and we aren’t going anywhere soon unfortunately.
I hope to be proven wrong but it would take a lot of other fixtures to go in our favor and we win every game
Less than 20 mins to go to kick off and the ground is sparsely populated.
@martin shame as we still have the 3rd best average attendance in the league (if it’s genuine numbers that is)
but it’s to be expected with nothing to play for but pride and league position for an extra 0.15 img score for 3 year average
A very good start until our try score gave away a silly penalty. With only 12 players we defended well but let Batley back into the game.
Deservedly in the lead 12-6 at half time - but we are the much better side and should easily beat an average Batley.
As already said, a poor attendance but then it is holiday time for a lot of people.
Crowd 2600 ? Seemed a lot less to me
a game we should have won easily - first 20 minutes our defence was outstanding
but we fell away with poor kicking and lack of direction from the halves
we have an outstanding back row at this level but lack another go forward prop and a classy stand off
reckon the centres will just about do but Fleming needs to go back to tackle school
bennison is very good - not sure why they kept kicking to him as he did nothing wrong
edge just about mom but hard pressed by mcwhirter who had a very good second half
Attendance 2,600 so just average , probably more if Liverpool hadn't been getting stuffed off palace
2600 is our average for the season so not totally unexpected.. we are not going down, we are not going up...
Some nice tries, particularly in the 2nd half. Decent defence to keep them to 10 too.
Good win today and some good defensive efforts and long range try’s.
However the standard of officiating is so poor and the game was just so slow from start to finish not an enjoyable watch when the ref lets the opposition to continually hold down and the games flow is lost.
Interesting that SL doesn't seem to be so slow in the holding own but the lack of urgency for the tacklers to clear the ruck is ignored.
It certainly kills quick moves from the ptb.
I thought Lawton had a good game today, plyed a lot of the match ran in hard. and didn’t go missing. I can’t understand why we don’t pass to Bennison more, he’s fast and elusive, but after getting just 2 passes last week, he had to come inside looking for passes, despite making a break that led to a try.
Also couldn’t understand why Condon was playing in the centres a lot of the time, leaving smaller players to try and break through the middle.
Still we played well for most of the game, but still managed to give yet another interception try away.
Hope with a couple more players back next week, we can get revenge on Barrow-for the dreadful defeat when we played them down here.
It wasn’t a bad game and I never at any moment thought we were in any danger. Batley’s tactics were John Keir’s old methods of forward drives all the time were as we used our backs who I thought made plenty of yards especially Bennison and Edge who took the ball back superbly, their forwards were defo tired in second half as we piled on the pressure. Patton defo on form yesterday with some superb kicks that with just a touch more luck and we would have hit fifty (Patton gave Fleming a roasting for not catching ball but palmed it forward) Our two Aussies stood out and Jack (for all the moans) marshalled the team around the pitch. Great win and onwards to Barrow👍👍
