Where do we go from here? Thats 2 weeks on the bounce. We have no more players to try. Butt, Bailey and Bennion came in. We don't have any more players in the squad. Thats 2 weeks in a row of a terrible performance.

You have to ask questions about the recruitment and also why 4 young players all left without playing a game rather than going out on loan. If they wanted to leave thats not good as you need a squad. If we wanted them to go, why sign a few 'project' signings only to release them virtually straight away. Either way its not good and contributes to our current situation as our options are extremely limited.

A continuation of the awful York trip last week. What ever happend the week after wire has cost us these last 2 games. Been told some used the week off for a 'holiday' . Well it's that attitude that has been on display today and last week.  Piss poor today and last week

I feel a statement from the club regarding potential signings could help, how we are doing financially also as communication has dropped off again

The simple answer is the club need to recruit better players than what we have and I think we all know that. I understand we don’t have the luxury of splashing the cash but we must have some sort of cash available to spend on players if not we need to utilise the dual reg and loan system a lot better I understand it’s not for everyone but if it’s the only way of getting players in then we must do it, Warrington has Taylor Wray, olli Leyland, max wood, Dan Russell all playing for the reserves why aren’t we banging on wires door asking for them without a doubt they improve that squad today. And if the club has no funds available they need to be transparent with the fans because no disrespect to barrow look at them shoe string playing budget yet they have a solid squad who do the basics and then utilise loan and dual reg agreements… are we even in the conversation about potential bringing players in? I think not.

Thought we would see some sort of response but once we missed a couple of half chances early on we folded easily.

Barrow had a bit of pace and a bit of power off the bench too, we need that.

If we can't get players from Warrington for whatever reason can we not go to Leigh with whom we did some business last year?

These performances have got the smell of the 2nd Finnegan season and the Kear season about them....hope it doesn't go the same way. If it does, common denominator would be some of the same players and board...

We were terrible again today, and gave them some easy tries. We should have scored 2 tries when it wax still 0-0, but threw some terrible passes out, when an ordinary pass would have seen us score.
Then when we get back in it at 12-6 with a minute to go to half time, we threw a stupid pass out on the second tackle 10 metres from our own line to give them a 12 point lead at half time.
The half time team talk didn’t do any good and the second half was even worse, despite Barrow starting to make mistakes and giving quite a few penalties away in the last 20 minutes, we kept making school boy errors and giving them the ball back.
I don’t k ow how a team can start playing so badly in 2 weeks, the players didn’t look interested and didn’t seem bothered about the mistakes they were making.

These sort of performances usually happen when there’s something wrong in the dressing room, I’ve been told there’s no money problems, so I don’t know what else can be upsetting them, but Coleman  needs to sort it out before Friday.

  • @farnworth-viking totally agree with everything you’re saying however if there is something going wrong behind the scenes and causing unrest it must be something rotten because today was dreadful not one person looked arsed in that team and Coleman’s post match interview was no  better looks completely defeated didn’t spark any sort of hope. Hopefully it’s sorted by Friday 😬

I was hoping that last week was a one-off and AC had credit in the bank but today was very concerning.

Oldham and York up next, wouldn't bet on us picking up any points from either of those two games.

AC uncharacteristically downbeat in his post match interview too, not like him.

@dan1 To be fair. I think due to the state of championship1. The dual reg with Crusaders is not an option as they have only played 3 times since the Widnes game in Feb. Or maybe the released players could have played there.

Last week was bad, yesterday was awful and something I certainly didn't see coming. Every facet of our game yesterday was poor, can't think of anything positive to take from it at all, even the crowd looked poor.

Massive improvement needed Friday,  if we lose that we're not far off from a crisis.

Just as an aside, read some of the comments from the Warrington game earlier. The praise for the players and coach was amazing , it's only four weeks and apparenthy we've gone from bridging the gap to SL to having bad players, recruitment and coaches.

It's what's known as #FFM Fickle Fan Mentality. Everybody, all of a sudden have coaching badges, know what all the squad do on Tues/Thurs nights & Saturday mornings, what injuries they are carrying etc. The list goes on. The 'We've Got Allan Coleman' banner/flag has gone back in the drawer until we next win, when will it be unfurled again, who knows, only time will tell? It's okay to have an opinion, it's a forum. We didn't play well, at all, but when a below par performance is hampered by 80yd interceptions, etc, you know it's not going to be your day. Oldham will be a tough ask on G Friday.

Paulie xx

Because the difference between now and then is the type of performance I can understand the wire game is a different mentality because the cup and a local rivalry and all that however if the players can’t gee themselves up for “ lesser ” opposition then we have real problems look at Coleman’s interview he says will give Oldham a crack cos they have the money and are the big boys! No we should be giving every team a crack every game we should be right up for it no matter if it’s barrow or Oldham. We got dumped out the cup we had ambitions of winning then we get absolutely battered by barrow at home with no response at all to the previous week fans are gonna moan and have an opinion because the last 2 weeks have been absolutely terrible. We was lucky enough at the start of the season to scrape wins when we was playing poorly (apart from toulouse) and at least in them games we shown so commitment to the club and each other now we look completely lost. Some big decisions needed a real test for Coleman let’s see if he’s up to it.

There seems to be a club problem communication poor again ,ctw injured then he's not , signing players then not, money from vips which is supposed to be for players has it been spent already because that money is for players not bills ! The team is out of sorts the number of missed tackles was appalling !

colemans asset was he got the best from average players but that now doesn't seem to be the case and has a 2 year contract so let's hope he can turn it round ! Looking at the fixtures though another few hidings and all the goodwill will vanish and we back into Kear and finnegan eras the club seems to have run aground yet again and because it's happened sooo many times to us the fans won't take much more

hope it can be salvaged before then

What was particularly depressing on Sunday was the effort to upgrade the day in memory of Dougie Lawton, but with the positivity of the ground covered with young Widnesians starting on their rugby experience.

Sadly those only turning up for KO time will have missed that indication of the club broadening its efforts.
