…some would say he retired a few month ago…

Typical Widnes ‘twist’ but let’s hope we can use the wages bill for someone else.

Sad news for him, but it’s no loss to us on the field.

Done nothing special. Too busy with his punditry and the mid season holiday was a disgrace.

Well more money freed up !!! Surely it's time to start building for next year  when the competition will be wide open time to show a bit of ambition

I think most of the money freed up so far has gone on backroom staff like Hamilton. This money from Amor must be used to get a good prop in. The second prop we have lost & the first one was not replaced. We are very weak  in that position now wirhus slready playing Field a second row at prop. Withour 2 more props being brought in I do not see us making the play offs.

I wouldn't be surprised if we just muddle through without a replacement, the other two weren't replaced. As long as we can get 17 players to take the field is all that matters,it seems.

Yes he’s been disappointing, I thought we would get a season out of him. Hopefully we can get a good replacement.

It might be that we are saving the money for significant improvements to the squad for next season. It looks a done deal with either fev/Toulouse in the final as only teams with the cash for top players or so it seems. I believe an academy(part time) women’s, learning/physical disability teams are needed for inclusivity to meet the requirements for IMG. We have the stadium and with 3-4 good quality players on full time contracts has to be the aim for the club to go back up or have a fighting chance of promotion. I’d rather us be a mid to lower table team in super league than a top 4 team in championship

Good luck to him in retirement but done sweet FA with us. Hope we manage to bring a 'middle' in to replace him and Johnson as we are paper thin in the forwards now.

@hans-moleman people are obviously thinking it’s a straight replacement with tilleke now coming in to the starting 17, I didn’t see his performance last week but he was awarded motm from our fans. I didn’t see a top champ player in his performances last season but I hope he’s improving each season

Amor had stopped being the hard man at Saints and imo JK brought him in to act as forward coach and pack organiser. We will surely need some beefy signing(s) soon if we are to finish with a flourish rather than a whimper. I very much doubt that Fev or Toulouse are catchable tbh.

And it looks very much as if the careful off-field re-structure aims at meeting all the IMG criteria with, presumably, some keynote signings for next year. We followed a similar strategy under SO'C successfully.

With the funding resources at their disposal the club are taking the only sensible course open to them. Fev are at least a couple of years ahead of us and we haven't the cash to catch up that quickly.

I think it bad of the club not to have put anything on their website about this.

It's all very well to use "social media" but not everyone uses it.

The club fans should be the first to know about news such as this.

The club is a complete joke ...so called experts within and around the club making these signings ....vast majority of fans saw amor was never gonna complete the season....same fans even the ones blinded by cravens talent knew he'd be injury prone...same fans that 100% know owens isn't a half....that lyons isn't championship standard ....that we should have permanently replaced johnson and evans but just let them go without anyone lined up ...amor is the 3rd to leave that won't be replaced ...we'll all be told tilleke is the 2nd coming of king Kurt......the fans get panned n tbh this season they've been bang right so how does anyone put faith in the complete joke of a set up that can't see these things ....there's top top players coming out of the French elite 1 right now and we won't even be looking....complete sh#tshow right now

Yep, spot on CV. What a club we have become. I bet the management clapped Amor off the premises.

Not a pot a pish in this club i'm afraid, Championship 1 looms in the near future

Didn't read any comments saying Amor wouldn't be a good signing, everyone was very complimentary when he signed particularly for the off the field standards.

None of us know what he's been through to actually take the field recently, some very disrespectful comments on here from the usual Kings of hindsight.  Well done everyone who saw this coming.
