Not expecting anything g to come of the shouts about targeting injured players. That has always gone on. Will continue to go on too.

the noose issue though is a different kettle of fish. Very poor taste so I expect significant punishment for this. Hopefully Swinton will already be relegated by this point. Grubby club. Thanks for the players and coach though on the way down

Does anyone think that teams will not target injured players, if they see them as the weak link in the team?  Perhaps Widnes had a duty to take the player off to avoid the risk of further injury.

Having a photo of an opposition player with a noose around his neck is, at best, in poor taste. The fact that he is a former Swinton player who gave good service to the Club perhaps make it worse, although Widnes fans themselves do not always welcome former players back to the ground with good wishes!!

Who knows how messages are conveyed in the dressing room to teams prior to a game presumably, in this case, to emphasise the message that the player should be targeted as a weak link in the opposition?

I think that Swinton and the Coach will be censored for bringing the game into disrepute and possibly face a small fine.

I know Spelly has disappeared from this forum since the incident, but I wonder what his views are. He was always honest and fair in his views in his posts on here (except when it came to Salford!).

Spelly  has disappeared for obvious reasons and will be back defo when it’s all cleared up. His views have always been top notch, honest and very fair so I would expect his views on this subject to be the same. As for Swinton being a grubby club I think that’s totally unfair to a very old and historic club that has seen some really bad times over the last few years and its fans should be applauded for the way they have kept it afloat in some really testing times. 👍👍

Spelly is a wallopper, and I'll be happy if he never posts on here again. Spouting his weekly 'The Lions' thread, absolute shite. I remember seeing him going to a GF some years back and he had a Union Jack with 'Spelly Of Swinton' emblazened across the middle. Thinks he's bigger than the club.

Gregson wasn't injured prior to the game, Swinton deliberately aimed to injure him. Of course if a player picks up an injury during the game, and remains on the field, then yes, expect him to be targeted. But the agenda was set by Kilshaw in the 'Changies' before kick off.

Is that really necessary. Spelly is a respectable member of our forum and brings many debates to the table for all to comment on. His Lions thread is on the general page and it’s so simple for you to scroll on past so why don’t you just do that and leave the uncalled for comments where they belong, in your head👍👍

It's a Forum, a forum of people's opinions, that is mine, yours may be different, and that's fine.

The silence from Spelly since the Gregson incident has been deafening. Just because others choose to respect his 'honest opinions', doesn't mean we all have to.

@pauliewalnuts Correct anyone who has played the game knows this. The culture at Swindon is toxic ,let's hope they never come back from relegation. This is a Widnes fans forum who gives a crunchie about a Swinton fans view not many.

I’ve never seen any bad comments from spelly, of course he’s not been on this forum since the swinton game. Probably a respect thing than anything else

@prisoner According to Johnny Davidson "The RFL tribunal into Swinton coach Alan Kilshaw was supposed to be held today.

But I understand it has been adjourned until late November, when all the witnesses can attend and be available"
