Accepting the inevitable

Think it's now getting to almost certain we're not signing anymore front rowers ...with edge announced today that takes the squad to 24 I think (23 if Tompkins leaves or retires)....fully expecting us to retain hulme..else and Roby which will give us 27 ...if olly davies is true that's the 28 Finnegan quoted as his ideal squad number ....gives us 4 props and several back rowers of which it's getting clearer baker n grady have been identified as shoe ins if needed ....bit bizarre the club saying its learnt its lessons from last season regards forwards but we'll be going in with less than season just gone (cook..clough..jewitt..Farnworth..tilleke)..although happy with vast majority of signings I think last season is at risk of being repeated if 2 or 3 props get injured ...yeah there's extra back rowers...but back rowers ain't props....thoughts ?????

Pascal thinks we will sign 2 props and patience is a must mate. Rather us wait for the correct players, and it all depends on money left to spend too. Personally I rather have a proper full squad than loans who won't stay long. Possibly VIQI will help out on adding some quality.

Dan Norman is nowhere near the Saints first 17. Have we approached Saints over a season long loan? They have today loaned a player to Leigh on those terms.

Don't think saints like the idea of there players on our pitch they always had something to say about it when we were in superleague.

If that is so it is surprising they played on it for a season while their new ground was being built. They think it is ok to take our promising players though like Hill & Norman. As they have for decades!

Didn't think we had a artificial pitch then when saints played there.

It is not even the end of October yet, I wouldn't be panicking yet.

If by Christmas another Front Rower or two haven't materialised then I would worry!!

The fact that Ottawa seem to be playing next season but in the UK may mess the market up a bit for us and others maybe?

We signed Matty smith in 2019 a week before Christmas and Adam Lawton on Christmas Eve last year just give it time

Fingers crossed, maybe the club are waiting until nearer Christmas before they announce a couple of props, in order to boost season tickets being bought as a present!
