Look personally I think AC is the correct man for the job as the club currently operates. He’s instilled a togetherness in the squad, he’s encouraged community outreach programs that have some invaluable volunteers the likes of Womens and U19’s back room staff. He has steadied the ship along with a board that cut their cloth accordingly. AC can’t make championship level players super league players. I think if we are to try and take the step up to Super league we would need to bring in someone who has proven experience and can attract players who are at that level but that won’t happen until widnes see a substantial investment from an external business and/or individual. Our club has rich history and we as fans have expectations higher than we currently find ourselves so let’s stick together and keep moving forward
As and when we do take the step up I’d like to see AC fill a different role at the club
He is a likeable and well-intentioned man who does a good job in difficult circumstances. However, he has mismanaged the Abdul situation and ultimately the ensuing lack of creativity in the halves will result in another mid-table finish for Widnes.

Hopefully he has learned from this experience and one thing he has held his arms up and admitted got some things wrong. I am still on the fence with Coleman but his heart is in the right place and I think took a gamble hoping Abdul would lose some Timber in 6 months and be much fitter. Unfortunately Alan wants a quicker halfback and I feel he is looking in the French elite league now. If Abdul is not Training and others busting there gut it can affect other players in the squad. Then team bonding and cohesion can disappear in the team. The game is won by a team not on one individual player, so unless we are at the club every day non of us are privy to the ongoings. There is not many coaches around on a Championship budget, and listening to Mike Parsons Podcast it makes you realize Alan Coleman does a lot of work in the community to set up a youth structure. The RFL have not helped the Championship clubs and until we get an opportunity for Super League or a Sugar daddy then Alan is a good appointment. I still have my doubts as sometimes his selections seem bizarre, but he needs to rotate to keep players fresh. The Podcast from Mike Parsons is very helpful and can change your mind set at times.
Overall I agree Coleman is the right man for the job at present. He does more good things than bad & has done some very gpod things especially in getting a youth team together etc. Widnes Vikings is our club & we all need to pull together to ensure it continues to exist & prosper.
He seems to have realized Gregson is more of a squad player and is now picking Hall at 13 which is a good sign
@mckviking I think that’s partly down to the fact that Gregson has been injured for the last 3/4 weeks.

Hopefully Hall keeps playing well so does not bring in Golden Balls Gregson. 😂
@d-day I’ve noticed he doesn’t do the running over to North stand and back just before kick off too?
I think the Barrow incident shocked him to be honest
