Gavin Bennion - Swinton, ex Rochdale prop, age 30.
Lewis Hall - loose forward/stand off/hooker/prop - Swinton, age 30
Joseph Romeo - Centre/fullback/wing, Whitehaven, ex Swinton. Came over from Australia, age 25.
Declan Patton, half back, Featherstone ex Swinton amongst others, age 29.
Jake Maizen - centre/fullback/wing Whitehaven, ex Halifax. Came over from Australia age 27. Rumoured his transfer may have hit a snag.
They are the players that have been rumoured in the RL press/Internet. Lannon was another but we managed to get him in early.
That still leaves 3 more players signed who seem to have avoided speculation unless anyone else has heard anything?
Then 2 more contract offers on the table. Was it mentioned on Monday that a couple are project signings? Coleman has strong links to amateur RL, but would we offer a contract or more likely a trial? Hopefully an Aussie or 2 from the lower grades.

20 in the squad now so another 7 players? Maizen, Romeo, Hall and Patton rumoured. Possibly 2 surprise signings.
Brett Bailey has signed a one year deal, didn't see that one coming and its been announced on a Sunday evening. However, delighted he has signed and I am going to look forward watching this lad develop as a player.

2 Centres, fullback, halfback, back rower and a prop. 5/6 more players and the squad is complete. At least a centre, backrower and a halfback. Then it will be a route of using some loan/dual players, but I prefer that in the forwards used.
Wonder about Wellington Albert, now released from Fev.
Never hit the heights that might have been expected I guess, but AC might be able to bring him on.
I thought Tom Nisbet from Leigh might have been an option, but he has gone to Australia to play with the Townsville Blackhawks in the Queensland Cup.
Bailey good addition, really could do with another centre and a half back and then not far off
Is the Maizen signing still possible (can’t see it myself if he’s gone back to Aus under a cloud)???
Widnes Vikings are pleased to reveal our newest addition ahead of the 2025 season, as 29-year-old halfback, Declan Patton arrives at the DCBL Stadium from Featherstone Rovers.
Patton, 29, joined Featherstone halfway through last season from Swinton Lions. He made eight appearances for the Yorkshire club, scoring one try.
He has made 194 career appearances, scoring 24 tries. Patton has previously featured for the Vikings, making two appearances for the club on Dual Registration from Warrington Wolves in 2020.
Patton becomes Allan Coleman’s 4th new signing of 2025 and is excited to get started next season.
He said: “I’m excited to be part of what is growing here and I’m happy to have the chance to play my part. I’m hoping to bring some creativity and just hopefully add to the talent that’s already in the team.
“The club did really well last season, so hopefully we can go a step further and have another good season.
I’m gonna give him a clean slate and see what he does next year. Needs to stay disciplined and show his skills that he demonstrated in his early days at wire.
there are players I’d written off pre Coleman that have shown improvement this year and players who would take us into a relegation battle who actually helped us into 5th place and the playoffs.
let’s hope Declan and Gilmore can both stay fit and use their individual skills to give us a strong halfback pairing
General Patton with a long kicking game which we have lacked. Need 3 half backs for competition and injuries.
