Not that by a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng way the proposed 45p tax cut affect me, but...................

Kwarteng has now totally u-turned on it and yet described it as a "distraction" this morning!

He's addressing the Bule Brigade this afternoon, and I'm gonna watch him squirm!

I thought Boris was making a total wotsits of running the country, but compared to the new lot, he seems like a genius!

For the umpteenth time I ask.....................

Why should England tremble?

Every time Truss appears in an interview, she looks more and more out of her depth as PM. The Tories have achieved the impossible by appointing a leader who is more incompetent and shambolic than their last one.

Truss and Kwarteng are now blaming each other for the shambles of the “fiscal event”. Their failing was not having the sense to see that attacking those on benefits, whilst at the same time giving “handouts” to the rich, but the lack of any independent financial analysis of their figures. Just what are they hiding from the public?

I think we are about to revisit the period of austerity, with massive cuts in public services.

Can someone explain the difference between a fiscal event, a budget and a mini budget? I cannot see how last Friday’s major shift in policy was not a fully fledged budget, which presumably would have required an independent analysis.

I'm listening to Nicky Campbell's phone-in on 5Live as I bash this out, and the question is.............

"Do you want a general election?" But............

Much as I'd love the scenario to arise where the British public could have their say on Truss' shambolic administration, the fact that she's sat on (and inherited) Boris' huge majority in Westminster, means there's precious little (if any) chance of it happening!

As has been stated earlier on here, the new PM seems way out her depth, the Chancellor has described his u-turn as a "distraction" and there's unrest within the Tory MPs, but...........

I reckon she'll stick it out, and also receive a (stage-managed) standing ovation after her speech in Brum.

Also mentioned previously, was that the Tories have replaced a buffoon with someone who is even worse, and they've proved me wrong there, coz I thought that was impossible, but.....................

I'm afraid we're gonna have to sit it out for another two years, and I ask yet again..............

"Why should England tremble?"

Spelly.

4 PMs in 6 years, 4 Chancellors in 3 years. Your average banana republic sees more stability. This lot have had their shot, let's have a GE so we can see the back of them for 15 years.

KamiKwasi sacked so Truss can u-turn again this afternoon and deliver another "we've listened...." speech. Who cares?

Kwarteng is the best example I've seen that emphasises breeding and certificates and not valid qualifications for public office. I mean, the bloke's been to Eton, Cambridge and Harvard so he's obviously good at revising for exams. But, when it comes to finding a common sense approach to running an economy for a massively diverse demographic, he's absolutely no idea. If we were all billionaires, I'm sure we'd think he was great. But unfortunately, some of us aren't. Good riddance. Let's hope Truss is next in a couple of weeks.

Just how long (or short) can this disaster of an administration survive?

Kwasi out of the door before his feet are under the table, and replaced by................

Jeremy Hunt!

I thought getting worse than Boris and Co was impossible, but this lame duck, dead woman walking, total apology of a PM has proved me wrong!

We are becoming (have become?) the laughing stock of the world!

Has she got the decency to resign / call a general election? The country needs one, and needs one now, but....

Words like "breath" "my" "holding" and "not" spring to mind!

Just been out to the local Indian restaurant with the family for my birthday, and we checked out their Christmas Day menu, so..............

I confidently make this prediction here and now at 20.35 on 14th October, 2022, that.................

Liz Truss will not be PM when we sit down on 25th December!

I agree, she's way out of her depth and even the Tory MPs know it; most didn't want her in the first place. They're staring down the barrel with her in charge they won't let it persist. They're running out of faces though, the current cabinet is an absolute disgrace, 2nd raters the lot of them.

When Labour get in they should pursue PR and we'll never see a Tory Govt like this again.

If she has any shame she must resign now. Most of her recently announced policies have been ditched and some of the 2019 election manifesto commitments look likely to share the same fate.

So (if he's still Chancellor by then 🤣) Jeremy Hunt is gonna make a statement today eh?

I'll be on my way to Donny by then, but we'll try and tune into 5Live for the "Save Liz Truss' job" speech he'll obviously make!

I said earlier that she won't last till Christmas, but I reckon it's debatable whether she'll still be in situ by the end of the RLWC in mid November!

For the umpteenth time I ask you...........................

Why should England tremble?

Hunt has been brought in first to save the Tory Party (in my view beyond saving) and then to try to repair the damage to the economy as a result of the ill-judged and politically motivated “mini-budget”.

Truss has probably been given notice that she is on the way out, the date only dependant on when, and if, the Party can decide who will replace her and how.

My view is that we are heading for a general election in 2023. Whether the election is early or they hang on until January 2025, the chances are that the Tories will lose that election; with an early election probably being the best bet for the Tories to minimise the number of seats they will lose.

The Tories will hope that the damage limitation with Hunt’s budget changes will settle the market. They will plan to force Labour to show their hand in how they would manage the economy in the medium and long-term in the face of the current financial and cost of living crises. If the Hunt budget manages to settle the market, Truss will be “invited” to resign early in the New Year and Hunt anointed as the new Leader, with an election in May 2023, based around which Party will best manage the economy to recover from the financial crisis.

So Braverman joins the list ex cabinet ministers on the blue side of the Commons eh? How many are there now who've done a runner?

At PMQs today, Truss responded to Starmer with "I'm a fighter not a quitter!" But if she's not run out of mates already, she very soon will do, and be forced to join May and Johnson in carrying the "Failed PM" tag.

However, I still fear that there'll be no general election in the foreseeable, coz whoever next becomes No 10's keyholder, will be more than aware that they'd be totally destroyed at the ballot box! 😪

When you think it couldn't get any worse than The Buffoon......

Truss has no mandate from the people (no GE), no mandate from her MPs (they wanted Sunak), no mandate from the party members (everything she campaigned on has been thrown out).

She says she's a fighter, not a quitter. But, she's not a good fighter is she? She's in hiding most of the time and, when she's not, she's being humiliated by the political middleweight that is Starmer.

No strategy, no policies, no continuity, this is winging it of the highest order, on a National level. The serious right-wing media now turning on everything that has come before this, austerity, Brexit, you name it. The last 12 years has been an absolute catastrophe.

Deadbeats, has-beens and never-beens throughout the cabinet. And a leader without a vision or a clue. And without a mandate.

Hilarious, cringeworthy and outright dangerous in equal measures. Bring on the GE ASAP.
