Another Rugby League club in dire financial straits.
A big day for them and for Rugby League as well. They've been living on the edge for a long time.
Salford Red Devils facing liquidation as winding up order looms
As tragic as it may be, perhaps the best thing that could happen, is that Salford (or any other team for that matter) do go bust and get wound up.
Maybe then, the sport as a whole might come to its senses and stop living in la la land.
The Salford fans wanted it to be wound up so they can start again - investors ready apparently, but where they play may be interesting as I cannot see the stadium being available for them - they may end up sharing with swinton !
spelly would love that
but in reality they would probably go to Salford fc

*Can't see that mate. We already share with Sale, and I don't think the pitch would / could take it*
Spelly.
@spelly So are Salford the only tenants at the R. J. Bell stadium or whatever it is called
Well the farce continues - adjourned until first week in December.
by then pre season training will have started and they only have 4 ? Players left on their books - mellor on way to Bradford apparently
I can’t see them starting the season
I don't think they will be the only team who don't finish the season next year. This league will be left to descend into farce.
They must have a credible source of income lined up other than the jokers who have fannied about all season and still not produced the cash. All the talk of not going bust so they can pay all their loyal suppliers must have run it's course by now.
It’s a total farce - they should have been shutdown, the bridging loan has been coming for 6 months!
it proves time and time again that the IMG gradings are not worth the toilet paper they are written on
salfraud will have no ground, 4 players and expect to compete next season ?
they need the guy from huyton - was it fletcher ?
spelly will know

Geoff (Piggy) Fletcher - What a guy!
Carried Huyton almost on his own for years!
I remember when he was guest-of-honour at our presentation evening. It must be 40 years ago, and the room was rammed. When the MC introduced him, he came on stage, and said "Biggest crowd I've seen all season!" And from then on he had the audience in stitches!
As regards the situation at the Pinks, I'll just say (and I'll try to be diplomatic here) it's not kept me awake!
Spelly.
Just remember, those who can! that this was the aim of SL (and Lindsay) in the formation of SL. Just keep the big clubs and let the fans of the failing cubs support a SL team!
The fans of the old smaller clubs wouldn't buy it then and I suspect not now either.
I guess that the only way out is the outsiders to form a part time league if there are enough fans to support it!
