Went to our wheelchair game today, where it finished Lions 82-72 Hull KR.
We were fourteen points astray about midway through the second half, but pulled it round, with our player-coach missing only one of his fourteen conversion attempts.

Lions 0-56 Donny, at a sunny Heywood Road this aft, and as comfortable a win for the visitors as the scoreline would suggest.
They scored with their first two sets, to set the tone for the remainder of the game, on a brand new pitch that looked immaculate.
Odd incident right at the end, when their guy (Misky) appeared to go in with the elbow, and was sent off after the hooter had sounded, but..........
Donny are a quality outfit, and a million miles away from the "Another Bloody Sunday" times.
It doesn't get any easier next week, as we're at Thunder, and............
It's on Saturday, meaning I won't be at the wheelchair game that I invited you to.
Good news today? The Lionesses retained the Shield with an 18-10 win over Wire, and the Broncos stuffed the Pinks.

Just back from a sunny, and breezy Blaydon, and a 34-10 defeat, but...............
The effort was there throughout, and we only lost the second half 12-10.
We did our usual trick of conceding on the hooter for the interval, but apart from that, no complaints at all, against opposition many of which are FT.
Their discipline was not the best, and more than one of 'em got a real shitty on when we scored our second try.
Whilst we were in the north-east, your wheelchair team was putting ours to the sword, to the tune of 105-28.
Next up for us is (and I'll be able to watch 'em all) Pinks away (but walking distance for me) in the wheelchair on Saturday, then on Sunday at Heywood Road, the guys, and gals, host the 'Dogs, and FC respectively.

Thanks for the report spelly - they are nothing special
Just back from the double-header at Heywood Road, and a 30-12 loss to the 'Dogs for the guys, and a 78-4 win over FC for Lionesses.
Whilst the better side won in the men's game, as last week, we were competitive, but a couple of late tries for the visitors, gave the scoreline an lopsided view. Maybe 18-12 would've been fairer
They took the lead when we were down to twelve for a high tackle (and I wouldn't have argued if it'd been red) then we equalised to make it 6-6 at the break. It was 12-6 our way, soon after the re-start, and we dared to dream, but their better better qualities showed from then on, and we didn't look like scoring again. Ex-Fev star Ben Reynolds, was a thorn in our side from the off, scoring the last try, and banging over six from six with the boot.
As regards the ladies, it was over as a contest after about twenty minutes, and we still sit proudly at the top of the league with a 100% record.
Next up for both now is away to the Pinks. Saturday, sees us head to the Piedome, and a curtain-raiser to Pies v Toulouse, then a week today, we're at (the little) AJ Bell for their girls v ours, but..............
Before either of those, our wheelchair team host Wire in Friday.

We missed just a solitary conversion, and unfortunately it proved crucial.
Home in time to catch the second half of Wakey v Leeds.
Tomorrow morning it's Dolphins v Broncos, then an unhealthy breakfast in Swinton, before jumping on the train to the Piedome.

Been home for about an hour and a half mate, and I've had (a lot of) worse days!
Went on the train from / to Swinton station, and it's about a forty minute walk from there, back to mine.
But yes, I'm absolutely bouncing, celebrating our first win against 'em in a competitive fixture since 1985!
Summat happened early on today, that I don't ever recall seeing before. Our lad got "dumped" in a tackle, and a bit of handbags followed. When order was restored, there were two yellow cards, but both were Pinks!
We couldn't capitalise on their shortage, but soon after they were back to thirteen, we scored the opener, to lead 6-0, but.........
They responded with two of their own, to lead 12-6 at the interval.
We hit back immediately after the re-start to restore parity, and five minutes later, it was 18-12 to us.
On the hour mark, they gave away a silly penalty, so we took the two, and led by eight.
They didn't go away, and it was soon 20-18, with over a quarter of an hour still remaining, but............
Our defence held firm for what seemed forever, and we then celebrated big style after the hooter!
I would imagine for any neutral, it was a good game to watch, but it was defo a lonnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng eighty minutes for the healthy Swintonian following.
It's a repeat tomorrow, when our respective ladies' teams lock horns, and hopefully we can maintain our 100% record, with a lot less stress then there was at the Piedome this aft!
Next Sun, there's a double header at Heywood Road, when the guys host Cru, before the girls entertain (second in the table) Cardiff.

Pinks Ladies 4-78 Lionesses at the (little) AJ Bell this aft, and as comfortable as the scoreline would suggest.
We kicked off, they knocked on, and we scored from the resultant set of six, and it was pretty much one way traffic from then on.
So that's two trophies in the space of just over a day for us to polish!
Yesterday, it was the Centenary Cup, and today, the Pankhurst Cup. Not the most famous silverware in the game, I agree, but...................
Both were against the Pinks, which makes it very special for any Lion!

Leythers 66-14 Lions in the wheelchair game this lunchtime.
It was only 22-14 at the interval, but their quality showed after the restart, and we didn't trouble the scorers again.

Just back from Heywood Road, and a winning double.
Lions 60-10 Crusaders, and a more than comfortable performance, with the result never really in doubt, from when we scored with our first set of six.
There are (a lot of) better teams than Cru, but a professional show was needed, and that's what we came up with, and then.................
Lionesses 22-18 Demons, and as tight (or even tighter) that the scoreline suggests, to secure top spot on the ladder.
Four tries apiece, with the only diff being that we landed three from four conversions, whilst they were only successful once, and that was from bang in front.
Two away trips next week for us, with the guys at Goole on Saturday, and then on Sunday, it's your ladies v ours. See you at Wilmere Lane?

PS - On my way home, my mate from Oldham rang me, and he was absolutely bouncing! Hardly surprising is it?
32-28 Lions this aft, and as close as it sounds.
Both games against 'em this term, we've lost by just four points!
Five tries each, but their guy was faultless with the boot, and we landed four from five.
Discipline questionable from both sides, with a yellow each way.
Were we worth a draw? Possibly, but c'est la vie, coz we won the Lionesses' game last week in a similar manner, and i wasn't moaning then!
Nowt for the guys now for a fortnight, when we make the daunting trip darn the smoke, but meantime......
I'll be at your girls v ours tomorrow, and then the 1895 Final on Monday week, so..............
