No game for the guys this weekend, so we're off to Wheldon Road tomorrow to see if our girls can notch another victory.
We currently top the table, sitting on a P5, W5 record.
It's a lonnnnnnnnnnng time since I've been to Cas, coz we've gone longer not playing them, than any other team. In fact it was Station Road times when we last locked horns!
Report to follow!

Home from my first trip to Wheldon Road for 34 years, where it finished..............
Cas Ladies 0-82 Lionesses, and it was as comfortable as the scoreline would suggest.
They kicked off, we scored after a mere 36 seconds, and it was 20-0 before the hosts had ball in hand, so it was game over after less than a quarter of an hour.
38-0 at the break, and to be frank, they never really looked like scoring.
P6, W6, and sitting proudly at the top of the table!
Next week we'll be clocking up the miles, as it's trips to Brum on Sat for the guys, then to Craven Park on Sunday for the girls, in the semi of the Plate that we won last year.
And to complete our afternoon, Huns did the biz on the Pinks!
Congrats on your win.

'Canes 6-24 Lions at a sunny Avery Fields this aft, and our first away win of the campaign.
18-0 at oranges, and it was 24-0 soon after the re-start, which was GSAM.
The hosts scored on about the hour mark, but that's all they got, or deserved.
They must hate us, coz we've saved our best two performances of the season for 'Canes home and away!
We now need to kick on from that, with another win next week at Keighley, who got stuffed at the (other) Vikings today, but...............
Meantime tomorrow, we're off to CP for the shield semi against the Lady Robins, but.............
If we win, I (currently) won't be able to make the final, coz (at present) it clashes with Donny at home for the guys. Hopefully, one of 'em can be re-scheduled.

Home from a sunny, and sweaty CP, where it finished HKR 4-58 Lionesses, and we're in to the final of the Shield we won last year. Wire will be the opposition, and it'll be staged at Orrell.
As last week, it was a more than comfortable win, with the result never in doubt from about half an hour into the contest.
However, on speaking to one our directors today at the ground, and as I eluded to earlier, the final clashes directly with the Donny game in the Championship, and both fixtures are set in stone, which is annoying to say the least.
"Which one will you go to Spelly?" you could now well be asking, and I'll defo be at Heywood Road, whilst keeping up with the happenings at Orrell with my phone.
Our next outing is the first team, who are at Lawkholme Lane, in a week's time.

Back from a sunny, and breezy Lawkholme Lane, following a 40-18 win.
We had a dodgy ten minutes early doors second half, but apart from that, we were in command, to notch a second win on the bounce away from home.
Difficult to pick the m-o-m for us, as everybody put in a shift, but (ex-Lion) Matty Beharrell for them, showed what quality he still possesses.
A treble for me today, coz whilst we were doing the biz at LL, the Lionesses were beating Wire, and the Pinks got a silver medal against the Raiders.
On the road again next week, and in a fortnight too, with trips to the Shay, and the Rec respectively, awaiting us.

London away sorted ish!
As I've mentioned previously, we were due darn the smoke on the weekend of August Bank Holiday, but they'll now be at Wire on the Monday for the 1895 final. I can't remember who'll they be playing though! 🤣
It's now been re-scheduled for the following Saturday, at Richmond, with a 2.00 KO, and another venue to add to my CV. This is the first weekend of the play-offs, in which nether team is likely to involved, but............
We could still scrape into 'em if results go our way, although we've still some hugely difficult fixtures awaiting us like Donny at home, and up in Blaydon, which come on consecutive Sundays, and if that transpires, it'd throw a huge spanner into the works!
Time will tell, but meantime, we're at the Shay on Sunday.
COME ON YOU LIONS!!
Spelly.
Wish you luck on that spelly - but SL bound London are playing at Richmond - a stadium up to SL standards ?
mind you odsall is !

As I said, it's a new ground for me, and from the pics, it looks a decent set-up, but there's a fair bit of football to be played before we head darn sarf.
