I wish you well against West Hull today, spelly.
Lions 50-6 West Hull today, a comfortable win for us, with the potential of a banana skin avoided.
A few changes from the team that beat you last week, with the likes of Roby and Patton watching the action from the stands.
The result was never in doubt, and they were looking a tired side from the hour mark.
So (touch wood) that's only four tries conceded in our three competitive games so far, and the road to Wembley remains open on two fronts.
No fixture next week, as it's our bye in the 1895, then in a fortnight, we welcome the 'Yeds to Heywood Road in the next round of the Challenge Cup.
Well done on your win.
Spelly.
I've sorted this year's walk, and it's 23 June when we host Barrow, so could you help please?
Any contribution would be greatly appreciated with the monies as usual, being split 50-50 between the MND, and Blood Cancer UK'

No donation is too small, and thank you in advance!

Lions 28-12 'Yeds at a nippy Heywood Road this evening, and two routes to the national stadium are still there.
Awesome defence again was the catalyst for our win, with Dec Patton in the majority of the moves when we had possession, together with his five from five from the tee.
They'd already beaten Championship teams 'Fax, and the Raiders, so came with confidence, but we sent 'em home with their tales between their legs.
The highlight of the game, was when Jake Spedding scorched about 70 metres for a four-pointer that'll defo be a contender for try of the season!
Sheff at home in a fortnight is our next appointment in this comp, but meantime we have a trip to Odsal next week, in the quarters of the 1895.
Spelly.
Great defence again Spelly. Reminded me very much of the 1895 game against us.
Great win for you, spelly, and a well deserved one at that.
Our cup-tie with Sheff, has been switched to the Saturday at 12.30 for BBC broadcasting, but..............
A certain wendyball team will be kicking off at the same time, about four miles away, and that's on the box too!
Can't see the "house full" signs going up at Heywood Road that day!
Spelly.
@spelly surprised at your tie been chosen by the beeb - can only think sportsman had first choice
interesting to see on the RFL website it has the fev v wakey tie being played at the millennium stadium !

POR's "official" name is the Millennium Stadium.
It's linked (I think) to Millennium Care Services in Ponty.
I thought we could poss be on the Sportsman, with the Beeb "all over" the Fev v Wakey tie, but no, it's the other way round!
If we have an attendance north of 500, I'll be pleasantly supplied.
Hopefully we can win, and then be paired with a Super League club in the next round, to put some much needed dosh in the till.
Spelly.
Thanks spelly, wish you well in that tie - I reckon you will win that one, be interesting to see how you get on against bradfraud on that huge pitch
but can you see it coming - we both win and end up playing each other, no massive payday for either !

Just read again and it says millennium stadium , Cardiff - that’s not the new address for POR is it ?

Just read again and it says millennium stadium , Cardiff - ** that’s not the new address for POR is it ?
** Not as far as I know mate. I'm sure it's just off Station Lane in Featherstone!
Spelly.
Was chatting with my mate last night, and we totalled that in the three SL games that were on, ELEVEN of those players had donned a Lions' shirt at one time or another!
Brownie points to any Chemic who can name 'em!
On another matter, it's p*****g down in Monton at present, so I'm guessing it's not much diff in Bradford. The pitch didn't look the best when you were there, so I can't see there being much flowing football tomorrow in the 1895 QF.
Spelly.
@spelly. I didn't go to last week's game, mainly because of the stadium and pitch. Both are an absolute disgrace in today's game.
"Back in the old days of winter RL" we expected a mudbath on wet pitches. But this is 2024 and I hope that you are able to beat Bradford on that undersized and probably very soggy excuse for a playing surface.
