Lions 6-48 'Dogs, this aft, and as big a stuffing as the scoreline suggests!

That's 14-92 over the past couple of games, and things are looking grim!

To make matters worse, both Barrow and Newcastle won, meaning we're further astray of the Raiders, and Thunder edge two points nearer to us.

Tier three is calling at present, unless we can find a bit of form, starting next week at your gaff!

The only crumb of comfort this weekend for yours truly, has been the Pinks crashing off the Wembley trail!

See you next week!

It's the morning following the afternoon before, so here's my feelings!

I'm still bouncing, coz on the "must win this to stay up list" Widnes away was defo not on it!

It's particularly sweet, as you've stuffed us twice so far this term, including our ill disciplined affair at the Bash, and also our last two woeful showings against the 'Dogs, and 'Fax.

Biased as I am, and as I mentioned on the other thread, I think the seven point margin flattered you, and we were deserved winners.

An away win at Widnes was lonnnnnnnnnnnnnng overdue, so please allow me a bit of glee!

There's a mix of about five teams who'll be fighting to avoid the big drop, and yesterday did us no harm at all in that department!

We need to follow that up come Sunday, when we host high riding Sheff, who include Jack Hansen in their squad. It was his last gasp ball steal try against Donny in the play off final that secured our return to the middle tier, but I sincerely hope he doesn't come up with a repeat!

Prior to the clash, it's our annual sponsored walk for Blood Cancer UK, and the MNDA, and if you'd care to make a small contribution please, we'd be eternally grateful. Thank you!

All the clubs in the "danger zone" have difficult games this weekend, and whilst there's still a lot to play for, the results could prove pivotal in the bid to avoid trips to Cornwall, and Colwyn Bay next term!

'Haven who just edged past York last night, have the daunting task of hosting Fev, whilst the Knights themselves have 'Fax as their visitors.

Barrow entertain the 'Dogs, Keighley make the trip to their neighbours at Odsal, whilst Thunder have the long journey to the Smoke.

We have third place Sheff coming to our place, and we've just gotta hope that we can back up our performance at NP, with a repeat against the Eagles who include ex-Lion Jack Hansen in their squad.

It was Hansen's last gasp ball steal try against Donny in the play off final, that sealed our return to the middle tier, but I sincerely he doesn't come up with summat similar on Sunday!

Are London and you safe on seven wins each already? Possibly, and I would expect the Broncos to make it eight by comfortably seeing off Newcastle, but with the greatest respect, I can't honestly see you coming back across the Channel with smiles on your faces.

It's gonna be interesting, and..........

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!

Lions 30-22 Eagles this aft, and another huge win in our bid to retain our middle tier status.

22-10 to the visitors the the break, but they didn't trouble the scorers at all after the re-start, and we won the second half 20-0.

Some good results for us elsewhere, as the Broncos, Bulls, and Fev, stuffed Thunder, Keighley, and 'Haven respectively, whilst the 'Dogs did the biz up in Barrow.

The only downer was the Knights getting the better of 'Fax, but were now twelfth, and (currently) above the dreaded dotted line, but......................

Our next appointment is a trip to POR, and words like "breath" "my" "not" and "holding" spring to mind!

And of course, the weekend started splendidly, with Wakey walloping the Pinks.

Games in this league don't get much more difficult than Long's Lads at POR, but they've gotta be played, and that's where we are on Sunday.

They've only lost once so far this term in the Championship, and look nailed on to finish as table toppers come end of term, as they (again) dream of the Promised Land.

I've been to Fev many times, but only once have I come away smiling, and that was in a play off back in '06

I doubt if you'll find any Swintonian who's expecting us to win, but you never know, and what a huge boost it'd be to our survival hopes if we could pull it off!

Table booked in Ponty for a pre match lunch, so.................

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!!!!!

Just back from POR, where it finished (Super League bound) Fev 52-6 Lions.

It was only 12-0 at the break, and they were down to eleven with two yellows, but they scored first after the re0start, and that was GSAM.

To our credit, we never threw the towel in, and with effort like that every week, we'll stay up, coz we've got the most difficult fixture of the campaign out of the way.

We repaid the "down to eleven compliment" towards the end of the end of proceeding, with two sin binnings of our own.

Long's Lot are a class apart in this division, but from the remaining thirteen teams, and as today's results elsewhere show, anyone can beat anyone.

Alarm bells will be ringing big style at Lawkholme Lane, and the Shay.

Next up for us, is a visit from the Broncos, and they'll be on a high after their win over Toulouse yesterday.

Spelly.

PS - Oh yes, there was another silver medal for the Pinks!

And ditto from us mate!

If you can do the biz over at LL, it won't do us any harm at all, but,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

We've still gotta put another W in our results column!

Here's hoping for a double!

Lions 6-12 Broncos this aft, and prob a fair result over the eighty.

We were 10-0 down at the break, and had never looked like scoring, but...........

We got a six pointer early doors after the re-start, and had a bit of momentum, but......

Couldn't capitaise on it, due in the main to their good defence, and the only other score after that, was a pen for them from bang in front of the posts.

No change at the bottom, as all teams around us, also lost.

No game for a fortnight now, when it's a trip to KIngston Park, in what is a must win game against Thunder.

Another set of crucial games at the danger end of the Championship this weekend, as all those involved continue to battle against putting Penryn, Colwyn Bay, et al into the sat-navs for next term.

You can do us a huge favour, by beating troubled 'Haven, the Cougars are across La Manche, and Monday's game sees Barrow at Odsal, whilst......................

We head to the North East, where if we can do the biz, I reckon Thunder would be pretty much doomed for the dreaded drop, but...............

I'm sure they'll be thinking "We won at their gaff, so let's do it at home as well!"

It looks like we're taking a decent following, so hopefully we can return with smiles on our faces!

COME ON YOU LIONS!!!!!!

Our away game with Toulouse will be staged in Carcassonne, due to Olympique's "normal" gaff being used by the Japan Yawnion World Cup team.

Coaches are being laid on to take fans to and from Toulouse, but..............

The ironic scenario is that a load of us are flying into Carcassonne, whilst staying in our "usual" hotel of the IBIS in Toulouse!

So it's land in Carcassonne, and train to Toulouse on the Thursday. Coach to and from the game on the Saturday, then train back to Carcassonne on the Monday!

Well, we went up one place yesterday, and we don't kick a ball until today!

Keighley got stuffed big style in Toulouse, so we're now above 'em on points diff!

In my hotel in Newcastle at present, then off up to KP later, where hopefully we can avenge the Round 1 loss they inflicted on us.

It looks like there's gonna be a healthy Lions' following, so fingers crossed, we can do the biz.

And of course, we're already smiling, coz the Pinks didn't trouble the scorers yesterday against Les Cats!

Good luck to the Chemics too, as you can do us a favour by beating 'Haven.

What a sickener!

Just got back where it finished Thunder 25-19 Lions, which they won with the last play of the match!

10-0 to them at half time which stretched to 18-6. We scored two converted tries to draw level, and banged over a drop to nudge us in front, but.............

The got the ball from a short kick off, and equalised with their own one pointer, and just as were were all saying "I'll settle for a draw!" they broke down the left, split the posts, and the hooter went before the con had been taken!

It was quiet and subdued car coming home, but just before the M1/M62 junction we experienced a very sobering experience, coz..............

As the traffic slowed to a crawl, there was this burnt out shell of a car, along with two police car on the hard shoulder, with (I presume) the occupants stood just over the barrier, and I said to the others "And we thought we had problems!" Just hope there were no injuries.

Thank you beating 'Haven and our game next week at home to Keighley takes on even more importance!

Spelly.
