Apparently the Pinks broke a long standing record tonight. According to Jon Wells, for the last eleven years, whoever lost at Wembley, won the following week! Spelly.
Is it just me, but shouldn't all these comments about Salford from a Swinton fan be posted on a Swinton fans web site if there is one. By the way, I think Spelly makes a positive contribution to this Board when he comments about Widnes or the game in general.

1) Frank, this is a General Rugby League section, and I feel (more than) fully justified in posting the comments on here.
I have placed similar comments on the Facebook page of The Station Roaders.
I put it to the other members, and ask...………..
Am I in / out of order?
2) Thank you!
Spelly

Hi Spelly - didn't mean to offend and agree that it is in the general rugby league section and you are entitled to post any comments you wish. Just got a little fed up with negative comments about Salford, who have played above their weight in retaining their SL status and certainly in the last two seasons, against all odds. At least they have shown that a "small" club can be successful in SL (well nearly!).

No problem at all mate, and no offence taken! Opinions make the world go round!
I agree that they've played / punched above their weight, but that for a (biased?) Lion is bad news, and to see 'em get stuffed last night made very pleasant viewing for yours truly!
Spelly.
Strong link to Hull for Ian Watson.
Be a shame for Salford, however a chance for a bigger budget for Watson if he goes.
Would Mr Sheens go back to Salford I wonder....
I'm not so sure Watson and Hull are a good fit.He seems more suited to Salford where expectations are lower and there's less pressure.
Watson's had a shed load of clubs, but apart from a short spell (on loan I think) with Worky, he's never moved that far from home. He lives in Roe Green, which is about a couple of miles from me, so would he fancy upping sticks, or driving two hours each way on the motorway every day, to take over at FC?
Spelly.
Says he is staying now, good for Salford.
Wonder where Hull will turn now...
I think the Hull job was too big for him and he knows it himself.Does'nt need that pressure in the spotlight and backlash from the crowd when things are'nt going well when he is quietly achieving some success at a smaller club.
An unexpected win with a small club is massive, a loss to a big club is seen as a disaster!
Salford have binned their next game which has been awarded to Warrington, win by 24-0.Only 13 fit players. Can't really blame them, player welfare is paramount and they would have been playing their 8th game in 32 days.
The short recovery time has tested clubs with small squads. Yet another indication of what we need to get to before we look at SL again.
Couldn’t Salford have played some of their under 21’s to make the team up? Saints played a lot of theirs on Monday.
I don't think Salford have an under 21's
I get that Spelly hates Salford, that's fair enough. But, you have to take your hat off to them, 2 Finals in 12 months is some going for them. Watson clearly has something about him. I think Hull could do things with the right coach, they kept Radford for way too long, he was massively under-performing.
