As with every international squad, there's shouts of "Why has ** been picked?" and "Why

has ** been left out?"

In my opinion, Jake Connor should be in there, as he should've been in the Ashes last term.

Can we win it? I fear not, despite there being a goodly number of NRL players selected.

The semi at best for me.

Spelly.

That's two coaches that agreed with me about the snake 🤣

So coz two coaches, and a message-board member who hides behind a non-de-plume agree, that makes the decision correct eh?

I stand 101% with my opinion that his omission is wrong, and I'm far from alone in holding that view.

Not the first time you and I have disagreed, but it won't keep me awake!

Spelly.

Firstly everyone has a false name on here so why single me out? You obviously think your opinion is more valued than a pro coach 🤣  get off your pedestal as its not your message board and yor opinions mean jack to anyone just like mime. You dis the last two England coaches yet the uncountable ones before have achieved nothing. Except the guy from 1970 whose team beat the Aussies captained of course by a Widnes lad.

They’ve sold over 40,000 tickets for the opening game on Thursday between Australia and NZ. It will be the biggest attendance for a international since 1974, when there was 55,500 for Australia v Great Britain, but the capacity is only 42,500 now.

* Show me one post where I've even suggested it is please!

It's OUR message-board is it not?

Anyway, I'm sure we can agree on "Come on England!"

What a game!

That NZ pack is fierce. If we play them, don't try and go up the middle, it won't work.

Aus doing what they needed to win, like they nearly always do. NZ will feel unlucky though, they were on top for long spells.

I like the fact that the video ref takes 1 look and makes a decision. Some of those decisions would have taken 10 mins in SL.

A great start.

Awesome start to the World Cup!

Quality footballers all over the park!

Let's hope the rest of the comp is just as good!

RL remains the greatest game on the planet!

@spelly

I listened to it on Radio 5, it sounded like a good game, pity NZ gave them 2 interception tries.

Anyone know when the BBC are going to show highlights on I player?

Thanks. Just watched it, unfortunately it was only 5 minutes long, just showing the tries.

Thanks for the info GPO, I listened to the radio but the clips certainly highlighted the commitment and skill of the players.

Much more of that superb style of play please!

Watched Samoa v France this morning, and in a way it reminded me of our two games against the Broncos in the season just finished.

You can only beat who's / what's put in front of you, and the result was never in doubt, but.........

Gardiner's Guys were ruthless throughout, in a totally professional performance, as were Lockyer's Lads against the Lions.

Today’s result just shows the absoloutley gulf in class between nations. It’s a bit embarrassing really

Zero interest in this for me, hidden behind a paywall and an 'England team' with a load of Aussies. No thanks.

England 12-30 Tonga, but more to the point, RL players 12-30 NRL players.

They scored when they needed to, in a totally professional performance.

I have a couple of Swinton mates who are heading out for the back end of the comp, one of which was here at mine to watch the game this morning.

Talking of the Lions, let's see if any of you can answer this please.............

There are five guys at the World Cup who have worn our shirt, can you name 'em?
