Monday Night Championship?

The compensation given to the home team is expected to be used to increase the crowd for that game. So freebie tickets or reduced price tickets I assume. The 45 minute build up and highlights slot to be shown free to our league members. 30 games to be covered including some challenge cup coverage. The contract covers 2 years. It is not clear if it is 30 games a year or over 2 years.

reckon that’s 27 regular round games and 3 playoff giving the 30 per season That gives about £6K per match

Is that before or after the SL and RFL have had there snout in the trough?

Well I think it is great news, more exposure for our game and money in. agree 200K is not a lot, assume that would give about 8K to the home team which for some clubs would be better than their normal gate take also as it is a minority channel which you have to pay for, cannot see crowds being dented that much, whilst appreciating Monday is a different journey as previous people have said not much on a Monday, so give it a go i shall sign up to premier and May drop sky

It is a pay for channel but it is included in my Virgin sports contract along with Sky Sports, BT Sports & Eurosport. They throw the lesser channels in although people rarely watch them. It would not make me personally miss a game but less dedicated fans may choose to. I do not know if Sky Sports Overall I welcome it with open arms. Any expanded coverage & publicity has to be good. Any increase in finances for the sport although modest is not to be sniffed at.

Look again Geoff very surprised if you have it.

Checked & I do have Premier Sports 1 & 2 in the package. I suppose they could charge Virgin more due to this new package but already show RU that I do not watch.
