Seems like we have run out of steam a bit which is a shame but not totally unexpected as we have done well to make the Top 5.

Too many playing with knocks tbh. Still a good season.

Sounds like it will be York v Wakey so it's probably their swansong anyway!

Not heard whether we have signed a new Fitness Conditioner yet.

A game which probably sums up the season.

Scratching around to find a fit side, no lack of effort but ultimately, not big enough which gave us no field position.

Onto next season.

just returned from the game.

First half we were really good, and we just ran out of steam in the second. It wasn't that they were bigger, because to be honest their big lads made very little difference, it was the speed of the play that caught us out.

We made life difficult for ourselves at times, with mistakes and they used the sun in the first half, we didn't.

However, Flemings chase back, Butts tackle which absolutely dropped their player (can't remember who) and so on were examples of the spirit in the team. The fans were fantastic

York were good (not brilliant, but good) and fitness told in the end.

York look a really good side, quick and powerful.  I think credit to Allan Coleman, he did as well as could be expected with the resources at his disposal. The question now is how do we take the club forward off the field to give Coleman a bigger better squad to compete at the top end of the Championship?

I thought we tried hard, but we should have thrown it out wide more, Ince and Butt hardly got a pass, we kept trying to barge through the middle, but never succeeded, thought we would change our tactics in the second half, but we didn’t, also too many handling errors, from which they scored 1 or 2 tries, and a great tackle from Fleming, which stopped another one.

JJ didn’t look fit and Reilly didn’t do much, as he was obviously not match fit, and for once Fozzard had a quiet game. I think Fleming was our best player.

We could do with a couple of BIG forwards for next season.

Sounds as if their fast defensive line wore us down and cramped our style, like it did at the DCBL. We need to develop tactics to beat that, others do. Pace in the centre field would help, forwards or backs.

French showed one option for Wigan today with a stab through and follow it (shades of Billy Thompson(sic?) iirc, an old stager). Old fogies may remember!

Disappointed with the result, but we had a great day out yesterday. The atmosphere created by the hundreds who travelled, especially in the second half, was the best for a long time.

I thought when we scored just before half time that we would bounce into the dressing room and York would be a bit deflated. But it was the other say round and they come out firing in the second half and I'm struggling to remember us having the ball in their half for the first twenty minutes.

York were the better team and deserved the win. We have had a good season, one that has exceeded expectations and the coach should take the majority of the credit.

Most impressive for me was our tenacity when losing games when previous teams would have folded and got beat, this team battled and won.

Can't wait for next season!

Loving the positivity and optimism on here after a defeat. This is what the club needs fans and club on the same path

Am glad York changed the match to the Saturday… looks like they’ve took about 15 people to saints 😂👀

@johng Well done to them, they went and beat Saints on their own turf to win a Grand Final.
