I'm easily confused - you have succeeded! What does a poet friend of spelly have to do with someone called Davies who may be signing for us?
My brain hurts!
Sorry Sunny,
it seems that we have either signed or are about to sign Ollie Davies from Sheffield. One or two people on the thread were wondering who he was and I suggested Spelly might know as Davies played at Swinton for a season before he signed for Sheffield.
The season only finished on Sunday and all 3 leagues playoffs are about to start so many top Championship players still involved in games. You may not want to announce a player is leaving the week before the biggest game of the season. We have announced 4 good signings already, centre, hooker, prop and 2nd rower. Plus most of the starting 13 have been announced as new 1 or 2 year deals. Its mostly the squad players that haven’t been announced. I’m happy with recruitment so far. The challenge will be to find 3 more good props.
Hasn't stopped SL clubs announcing signings or leavings before the play off started. Loads of players still involved with clubs they will not be with next season. We are a poxy championship club so why all the secrets.
I am guessing the Holroyd signing if happening is because Workington are still in the Play Offs.
Maybe other announcements have been put back a bit in consideration of the sad news of last weekend.
A spell at Swinton didn’t prevent Les Holliday or Joe Grima from doing well for us.

Thanks for the clarification, all is now clear.
Fair enough - Swindon/Swinton seems to be used interchangeably on here these days!
Watching the Workington v Keighley game, some good players who could make the step up, so I think it's less about where they come from, rather quality and motivation.
Seen some comments on twitter about younger players being let go, no names mentioned; but I guess squad players in the backs?
Probably. We had too many outside backs last year to the point where we were loaning them out whilst struggling to put a team on the field.

I think it is the spellchecker function MT - it’s happened to a few people Swindon must be a lot more popular, with due respect to the inhabitants of, Swinton.
