Warrington our duel reg team
If we can get some forwards for covering injuries be a good thing
Seen a few people moaning at this, I can only see it as a good thing last year didn’t we dual reg with Rochdale or someone daft like that? At least this year we will be able to bring players in who let’s face it are gonna be better then what we’ve already got, maybe we can convince big Sam Burgess to pull on a jersey 😂
I agree this can only be a good thing. It was Rochdale last time although we got players from Leigh & Wigan. Does this agreement mean we can only get loan players from Wire?
DR is where we are as a club, the majority of our rivals DR and benefit from it. I think it would be detrimental for us to not do it.
DR works both ways, and George Delaney left us a far better player than when he came, and I hope we are paired with Saints again.
Your arrangement with Wire is interesting, coz I'd have thought it would've been Lam's Lads.
Spelly.

You can get loan players from anywhere - but loans must be for a minimum term of a month. Whereas dual-reg means players can play for one team one week, and the partner team the following week. It also means that a player could in theory be not named in the Warrington 21-man squad, and then play for Widnes based on that.
The Rochdale link last season was a bit of a farce considering we barely had enough players to field a team of our own (especially when Johnson and Evans were let go of at the start of the season with no replacements).
I still think the best link for us would be with St Helens, but Warrington makes sense too.
Wigan are partnered with Wakefield. I don't think they were too enamoured with Widnes' approach regarding Eckersley last season.
What was the issue with Eckersley?

Something to do with the how Toulouse away was handled - he was quickly recalled and then sent to Barrow.
Makes sense. Depressing obvs, but logical.
It is not ideal to be honest, but I do feel if we want a decent pool of players then it is required. I would use the dual system more in the forwards to get some quality, and other clubs utilised it well last season in the Championship. I am still hoping for a standoff even if a season loan, because I feel 3 halfbacks is needed. 1 strike centre then happy days with the squad.
Something to do with Toulouse away ? Hardly clarified.
Not sure how anybody can be a fan of DR.
To me, it just highlights another of the game's weaknesses, which is that Club's are either unable or unwilling to produce enough players of their own instead of having to rely on this pointless merry-go-round?
So what if the Vikings 'sign' six players from Warrington? They are not Widnes players and will be off at the drop of a hat if the other team says so.
How does a fan 'connect' with a player or their team under those circumstances?
And doesn't all this represent another failing of the Sports Administrators, who all seem happy enough to embrace the so called IMG 'revolution' (aka the Emperor's New Clothes) whilst at the same time ignoring the bleedin' obvious!!
I weep for the game I really do.
