I think we should play our joker and take the 24-0 defeat
Unless the government change the rules, or players get a double vaccination before June, the games against Newcastle and Bradford will have to be postponed as well, or played in England.
I think we should play our joker and take the 24-0
Think it as a positive though. We only have to hold them to below a 24 points difference and its a win-win!!!
It is a sad state of affairs when Widnes fans have given up on the team even competing against other teams in the Championship. I wonder whether we will fare better in League 1 next year, for that is where we are heading unless Finnegan can turn this slump around? Hopefully a few wins will cheer us all up.
To think Frank, there were Widnes fans when we were in SL who said they'd rather be in the championship, winning games rather than playing in SL and getting pasted, week in, week out! What next? I would rather be in League one winning games rather than getting pasted week in, week out!!! The mind boggles!

Yes and I was one of them too. I hope, as probably you do too, that the current malaise can be turned around quickly and we can get back to winning games or at least competing against the likes of Toulouse. I may be more optimistic (or misguided) than you to believe that Finnegan and the players can recover from this start, but I have supported Widnes for many years when they lost more games than they won, so it will not be a new experience.
What I want as much as wins is a team that actually looks to have some confidence and organisation in its play, can raise its game against better opposition and plays with some pride in the shirt. A convincing win against Swinton this week will be a start.

Baffling.
Toulouse or not to lose, that is the question.
A morale boosting defeat will suffice.Being competitive and making a game of it.
We need to look after ourselves and our own performance.
We need to show a level of solidity to back up a good win yesterday.
The worst thing that could happen is if we put up another Batley or Dewsbury like performance to go back to square one.

If you win games in ‘League one’ don’t you get promoted to SL though ?
A team playing with committment, particularly in defence, will be a victory atm. A breakout of Covid in either camp could blow it anway!

Quite right and any fan will want to see their team at the top of the pile, winning games, rather than at the bottom of the pile, regularly losing games. I did say that it is much more enjoyable as a fan to see your team playing good rugby and winning regularly, rather than going to games, like we were in 2018, expecting to lose. Having said that I would also prefer to be losing regularly in SL, rather than in the Championship or League 1.

I want my team to play at the highest level possible. If not what’s the point

I want Widnes to be playing at the highest level possible against the best players in front of big crowds both home support and away support.
I want us to be playing Wire and Saints not Batley and Dewsbury.
We have competed against these clubs in the past and come out on top.
Obviously not for some time but I live in hope.
I was inspired by Wembley trips as a youngster. This is some way off, we may never get back there but we need the big matches the big games to inspire the kids.
