Where’s Towse gone?
Anybody who thinks Coleman is the problem needs to look at the squad. Can only name 19, which features an injured player and 5 loanees. Think this weeks debutant will be our 42nd player used this season. Shambles.
@viking25 I wasn’t overly impressed with Towse in the games I seen him so I’m not too fussed if he’s gone back to Leigh. That stone cold drop vs Halifax was the straw that broke the camels back to bring butt back in, he would of scored any of the tries towse did in his games
@scouseviking55 Don’t disagree, but it’s another player the club announced had signed for the season and has disappeared. It always seemed odd we were paying for 4 wingers in our tiny squad.

Sadly, if players are injured or failed HIA victims then there is nothing you can do. You can only play what you can. We need to name 18 players on Saturday, we will do that. It's up to each and everyone of us to back those 18 selected to wear the shirt, regardless whether they are contracted, DR or loanees.
As for AJ Towse, Leigh have recalled him. It's out of Widnes's hands.

@pauliewalnuts strange one Towse going back to Leigh. He was supposed to be with us for the season, he's not in the Leigh squad and Josh Charnley can't get a game on the wing at the moment. Wonder what's gone on.
Injuries happen in RL, that's precisely why you need a squad. How often do sides have every player available, hardly ever. The size of the squad at the moment is very worrying.
On the dual reg and loan signings, I do find it harder to back the 18 on the pitch as I don't know if they will play more than one game or who some of them are. Kids look up to these lads as heroes, or I did in my day. Also what does it do for team spirit and organisation.

We know it's not ideal, but money dictates what you have. The Club try to live within their means. They lost funding due to Chris Hamilton messing up the IMG rating, which, they'll probably get back for 2026. The other Clubs above us in the Top 6 spend double what we do, because they have backers with bigger wallets, and they are prepared to lose it chasing the Holy Grail of SL. What happens when they get 'fed up'? They walk away and leave the Club on it's uppers. We've been down that route before, we don't want to again.

It's a Club living within it's means, it could always do with more money (hence Twinny getting on board, and he's doing great things), but there's no mileage in going for 'Boom or Bust' when the only end goal at the moment would be to win a Grand Final. We have a Youth Programme starting soon (Presentation Night on July 4th) and those good enough for selection will be training with the 1st team once a week, doing conditioning, nutrition etc (like an old apprenticeship) but still playing with their Community Clubs at the weekend. It's not an Academy as such, but it's a pathway to get Widnes Lad's playing for Widnes, which I think we can all applaud. A lot of things will be revealed sooner than later for fan engagement. Just keep your powder dry for now, and back those selected to wear the shirt, and things will become more transparent. Flash & Mike's Podcast will be a good listen this week.

it is a very strange platform - I have watched the last 2 games on there but many times it will not you in to the log on portal
very frustrating last week
but have signed up for tomorrow even though it says Sunday !
We have more pace in our makeshift squad than we have had for years - look at our opening 20 minutes last week. So go for it, use the kick and pace to disrupt Toulouse plans.
If we lose, as many logically predict, at least lose after giving the crowd in the ground some excitement!!!!
