I think I’m more intrigued by the population boom in Barrow than the IMG score!

It was something to do with changed boundaries that can now be claimed. There was talk of that we may be able to in the-near future to claim part of Liverpool as we have community work there and as the Runcorn MP now has Helsby etc that too may be added.

And we fall under the Liverpool Mayor etc!!

If Barrow changed, we are Liverpool city region not Halton surely.  Who represents Liverpool City Region other than Widnes and St Helen’s.  1.5m population, divided by 2 (us and St Helens) gives maximum score as 750k population each. The region thing is open to interpretation and shouldn't be a measure in my opinion.

Attendance is key as per my previous comments on London and Sheffield having massive catchment areas but 40 years down the line no fans.

@dan1 Barrow didn't change their boundary Dan, the government did. Our partial governance under the Merseyside metro mayor isn't a boundary change, it's more for funding reasons.

Reading on NewsNow about our loss of points due to lack of 'press provision' they must be expecting more ress reporters than opposition fans!!!!! How many papers actually carry RL reports these days?

What a joke I think Derek Beaumont be making a big moan now to the press if this was Leigh in the Championship 🙈

Hamilton get some balls you wasn't at the meeting last night either? Stand up or get out of our club.

Wasn't Chris on holiday?

I think it comes down to this, we need to increase attendances. I think we knew that before the IMG score. I have no idea how accurate the above report is, but thanks to those that went on Monday for sharing here.

As ever, gum shields back in and we go again.

The club haven't even put out a statement to the fans yet they want their money and backing. Once more no communication it's pathetic by the club.

@widnes77 are Labour Barrow fans do you think.  With Toulouse 0.5 off Salford for promotion a change of government catchment area could get you into SL. Barrow is still the small town in Cumbria its always been. Let that sink in!

Also 50 spaces for the press at Championship level, it's like Premier league football. These gradings from IMG are all over the place.

The more that's being discovered about IMG's involvement in RL the more laughable it is. Why does RL continually shoot itself in the foot ? The game is not an inch further forward than it was at the start of SL, and I'll argue that point all day. I honestly don't know whether to laugh or cry reading some of the revelations on this thread. Points for big car parks and press boxes. Wow, that's really going to move the game forward.

When was the last time we had 50 journalists for a Widnes home game- when Jonathan Davies signed? 🤣

Hope the board come up with a detailed breakdown of what was discussed last night so the people who didn't go/don't really follow social media are aware of the utter nonsense that we have been deducted points for.

Heartened to hear that we look like having 28 signed up for next year too!

I have counted 18 players signed up on the 2025 squad list. So 10 more new signings hopefully which is good news. Possibly a few from the tour of Australia while Alan Coleman is their? Maizen, Patton, Bennion and Romero are 4 rumored.

Well this IMG is nonsense, and i feel we need a few more years in the Championship to be competitive unless can get a sugar daddy. Possibly a new CEO like Terry O Connor who has some money and can direct us to know how the RFL click.

@dan1

Surely the increased population enjoyed by Barrow has to be shared with at least Haven and Workington!!!?

I was thinking that too as most of the area is the Lake District and tourism. Possibly counted the tourist. 😂🤡

Nope, Barrow come under Furness & Westmorland. Workington & Whitehaven come under Copeland.

The main thing that will be  encourage people to a Season Tickets and come to the HOME game is a WINNING TEAM.  Performance on the field of play is the aim of the game and RESULTS SHOULD be uppermost in he minds of the supporters.
