Some things from tonight meeting

Our average attendance figures were 2,600 season ticket holders who didn’t go and 1,980 actual people at the match . Some clubs put attendance figures down that included season ticket holders, they haven’t been checked, Al our figures have been.

Made a very small profit last season thanks to a loan from Widnes VIP
One of barrows walls came down, the insurance paid for it, and they put that down as money coming into the club.

Barrow got 2 extra points for their catchment area going from 68,000 to 500,000

To buy a big screen would cost at least £70,000 and take 33 years to pay for itself

If we appeal against our grading we have to pay £5,000 and if they disagree with us, we loose the £5,000

We have 2 million f people on social media, Barrow have said they’ve got 5 million, again not been checked.

Weve been in touch with img about some things they’ve got wrong and they’ve agreed we’re right, but we won’t get the extra points till the next grading.

Figures are from November 2023, so Whitehaven and Halifax money troubles this season aren’t included in their grading.

The council are doing their best to help us and are letting us use their car park for match days.

If that's genuinely what they told you, I'd be taking everything else they said with a pinch of salt. There's a maximum of 1.5 points for catchment area, Barrow's population went up to just under 230k and they increased their score in that area by 0.5 points.

I think I’m more intrigued by the population boom in Barrow than the IMG score!

It was something to do with changed boundaries that can now be claimed. There was talk of that we may be able to in the-near future to claim part of Liverpool as we have community work there and as the Runcorn MP now has Helsby etc that too may be added.

@steve Barrow were originally under Furness council,  pop 68,000 worth 0.5 points. Reorganisation of Cumbria councils means they now come under Furness and Westmorland, which is an enormous area extending to about 50 miles of Newcastle. Population is approx 233,000 which should give them 1 point.

So the loss in funding was £22K. I wasn’t too far away!

Disappointed i couldnt go.

Why so much info about Barrow, did they talk about other clubs as well?

So IMG agree we are right and they are wrong on some points, but nothing will happen until next year. If it was last years trial run fair enough but this year it's costing us 20k in central funding so that makes no sense. Is it as clear cut as IMG admitting it, that would seem odd.

So they check us and mark us down on certain elements but they don't check Barrows claimed 5 million social media interactions, again this makes no sense. They must have to check  and have control measures in place when giving out tens of thousands of central distribution funding?

Why didn't we work with the stadium management at the council to sort a press parking area and media facilities, it's clearly in the criteria handbook. James Gordon reporting we have been marked down 1 point from a maximum of 1.5 in this area? With that stadium, facilities is the 1 area we should have guaranteed ourselves maximum points.

Is the 600 no shows because we give away free season tickets, can you really see 600 paying people not turn up for every game during the season, 25% no shows seems an awfully high %. Seems unlikely we will now hit the 3,000 fans for extra points as we are only on 1,900 fans not 2,600.

Good news the loss of funds won't affect the playing budget, but it could impact on profitability and hence IMG points next time.

Good to hear we have 26 players, so 8 plus maybe another 2 to be announced shortly! Looking forward to that.

Hard when the info is second hand, let's try and put it behind us and put it down to costly experience.  But we MUST improve next time.

Roger Harrison gave some spiel about our 'hook up' with Cronton College over the start of the Academy Project. He said it's started well, and he wants the Harry Smith's of tomorrow playing here and not Wigan. It appears the local community clubs have bought into it, and there are 32 of the amateur's coaches getting involved.

Funding of the RFL for our LDRL. Disability, Wheelchair & women's teams is £9k total, any other monies have to be paid for by the Club or Sponsors.

The 3 Club Director's on stage were Stu Murphy, Roger Harrison & Rod Steele

Was Mr Hamilton not in attendance?

Surely the biggest worry for the club is, in our best season in years, the average attendance was 1,983.

Thats pathetic. Never mind IMG this and that. Focus on improving the attendances.

As far as barrow goes ..as previously said the boundaries changed and council .... currently across FB/Insta/twitter/tiktok as a combined total we have over 40,000 more followers...so if it's true weve had 2m hits and there claiming theyve had 5m then soz absolutely not having that ...you can go thru their media posts and see the level of interaction they have ...stinks of plucking a number ...how is that even fact checked anyway...i personally know the girl that runs the majority of raider's social media and if she's getting 5m hits she should be the highest paid member at the club ...in fact the league 😂

Hamilton is on holiday.

Our Facebook, twitter and instagram are all linked which means if you watch a video on all three it just comes up as one view whereas other clubs (Barrow etc) don’t link their accounts so if you watch all three it comes up as three hits. I also think he said “we were selected” others were not. It will be separated in the near future.

@viking25

They said the 2,600 figure was about the same as the previous season. They also agreed with someone from the audience who said we have to play well from the beginning of the season, to get more fans in and buying season tickets. Last year we didn’t seem to be to bothered about the 1895 games, and expected to beat Swinton away comfortably, when we lost, it produced a lot of negativity. The same thing won’t happen next season, and we have to hit the ground running.
