Much improved today, small steps but will be a confidence builder.

Miles better than what we’ve seen in the last few weeks. Let’s not get giddy and carried away, that’s as bad a side as I’ve seen for years at Widnes, that said you can only beat what is in front of you.

Good to get a convincing win.

Swinton were terrible but we played with a lot more control and the half back pairing looked better suited.

Grady playing well consistently and Lawton fulfilling a more suitable role as an impact sub IMO.

All in all nothing to get carried away with but much better and fair play to all concerned.

Lawton is looking for the offload every time. Great if you are on form but initially just get up the field big fella!

Lot of improvement needed yet, but we looked much more confident after that defensive ten minutes. Good show from the new youngsters of first run. Hatton looked like he got the nerves out of his system, power there!

I’d be keeping Hatton and Edge in the side. Both solid today.

Don’t understand why this was Edge’s first game of the season. He was one of our better players last season.

Hatton is a much better option than Buckley. Makes a lot more meters

Thought Clough went well today, swinton very poor mind our completion rate has improved but lots of work to do on that defensive line speed appeared better, or maybe swinton are slower version!

Bang on the mark on both counts mate!

After about 15 minutes, we struggled to get even the basics right!

We're bottom, and we deserve to be!

Not sure Gregson in the halves was the best option today, Spelly!

It's desperation stakes mate, as we're so thin on the ground numbers wise, but..............

As I've outlined on my usual report in General RL, I'm not using it as an excuse. Injuries happen to every team, and you weren't at full strength either today.

We (after the opening 15 mins-ish) didn't look anything like a Championship team!

Edge is a lot more solid all round than Spedding who look terrified of tackling and when he does refuses to get out the ruck in time

There was certainly a lot more talking and encouragement between the players today than in previous matches, seemed to be a bit of unity as well.

Think the issue with Edge is he should really play left centre, but Tyrer has (rightly) got that position boxed off.

Good to see Cross get in the thick of it.

Tilleke, when you consider made his debut against West Wales, made a very good impact off the bench. He may concede talent to some around him, but certainly makes up for it with application and desire. The fact he and Else are ever presents as rookies is fair play to them.

Looked much more balanced with Lawton out wide and Robson at 13.

Swinton weren't great at all, but you can only beat what's in front of you, and hopefully this will lead to at least a spirited performance next week.

That's very polite mate! Our message-boards are far less complimentary!

We were awful, and the body language at times summed up how poor our (lack of) performance was!

Gamebreaker in League Express this morning, has it as your first try of the second half. But I would suggest it was your first try of all, coz from then on, your game went up, with ours going (quickly) in the opposite direction!

The bad news for you mob is that your opponents this coming Sunday, will offer a hugely different challenge to the embarrassing one that was in front of you yesterday!
