Not sure Gregson in the halves was the best option today, Spelly!

It's desperation stakes mate, as we're so thin on the ground numbers wise, but..............

As I've outlined on my usual report in General RL, I'm not using it as an excuse. Injuries happen to every team, and you weren't at full strength either today.

We (after the opening 15 mins-ish) didn't look anything like a Championship team!

Spelly.

Edge is a lot more solid all round than Spedding who look terrified of tackling and when he does refuses to get out the ruck in time

There was certainly a lot more talking and encouragement between the players today than in previous matches, seemed to be a bit of unity as well.

Think the issue with Edge is he should really play left centre, but Tyrer has (rightly) got that position boxed off.

Good to see Cross get in the thick of it.

Tilleke, when you consider made his debut against West Wales, made a very good impact off the bench. He may concede talent to some around him, but certainly makes up for it with application and desire. The fact he and Else are ever presents as rookies is fair play to them.

Looked much more balanced with Lawton out wide and Robson at 13.

Swinton weren't great at all, but you can only beat what's in front of you, and hopefully this will lead to at least a spirited performance next week.

That's very polite mate! Our message-boards are far less complimentary!

We were awful, and the body language at times summed up how poor our (lack of) performance was!

Gamebreaker in League Express this morning, has it as your first try of the second half. But I would suggest it was your first try of all, coz from then on, your game went up, with ours going (quickly) in the opposite direction!

The bad news for you mob is that your opponents this coming Sunday, will offer a hugely different challenge to the embarrassing one that was in front of you yesterday!

If Swinton had scored in the first 10 minutes when they had possession on our line, it would have been interesting to see what our reaction would have been.

Thought the gamebreaker if anything was the try to make it 18-0 at HT, I think that would have kept us confident and deflated Swinton's.

I'd agree with Spelly that the very first try took the wind out of Swinton's sails. Perhaps low on confidence, realised they'd had a lot of ball and not managed to score.

I thought Gregson did OK in the first 20 minutes but then went quiet after that.

Meadows had a chance that he really ought to have clung on to, though still think Widnes would have had far too much.

Difficult enough for Swinton without the ruck of injuries they've got, and ultimately the games against the teams around them (assuming here that we won't be one of them!) will be biggest.

Strange one regarding Doro, Warrington have a fully fit squad other than Ashton who is a wing/fullback. They have 6 props ahead of Doro in the pecking order and he isn't in the 21 man squad, yet he's been recalled from a season long loan for 4 weeks?

It’s annoying but that’s the position you’re in when relying on loan players. Didn’t cost us last week as we won anyway and were able to give Calum O’Neill some much needed game time. But it may do in the next few matches.

Watching the game again and Smithy seemed to be controlling things, to the benefit of Lyons etc. There was a lack of organisation in previous games, maybe too many cooks?

Leon Pryce's comments were interesting and usually correct, or at least followed mine! Lawton looks frightening when he makes a move, but as Pryce says' go for it'.

It's annoying but more importantly it doesn't make sense, why recall him from a season long loan If they have a fully fit squad and they haven't included him in the last 2 21 man squads. Butler and Mulhern aren't getting in the 17 but making the 21. Then Cooper, Hill, Akoala and Philbin in the 17.

Doro is Warrington’s player, they can do whatever they want with him. It’s our fault we find ourselves in the position we are in, not Warrington’s.

Mulhern is injured and Philbin's playing with a knock. If players are recalled, they have to go back for four weeks.

At the end of May, Warrington play 17th May, 22nd May, 27th May. He will no doubt play in one of those. They've arguably done us a favour by recalling him now, so he can potentially comeback after the 27th May game (in time for semi-final) and then stay for rest of season; rather than recalling him the week before and leaving us 3 weeks to get through.

I am not suggesting that Craven should be dropped but Smith seemed to have a bigger impact on the game, with Lyons covering him with his legs. Craven and Smith, simply have not gelled as a pair.
