Another example of everyone but Widnes (or HBC or whoever) cramming as many in as they can within the rules.
Fev have less than 1000 season ticket holders so, even with 300 Widnes fans, there still be less than what's at the dcbl over the next few weeks.
I would imagine, with it being a cup game against Fev, that somewhere in the small print they have to let a percentage of away fans in.
It’s more arsing about than what it’s worth.
You don’t have to go if you don’t want to but to be put off by having to sit out in, hopefully, reasonable weather and get some fresh air ....
You can purchase a ticket for Fev but not for Widnes sums it all up.
How does it sum it up for you Mick ? To me it says that Widnes, be it by themselves or at the insistence of HBC, are taking an approach of (sensibly) erring on the side of caution whilst Featherstone seem to be ‘chasing the cash’. Putting health at risk for a couple of grand seems like a bad idea to me. Just saying.
It does say in the notes that a block at a time will be allowed to leave. I assume this will be dealt with over the tannoy. I guess they don’t need times as it will depend on how many actually turn up
Thanks, I must’ve missed that part.
If I can add a ray of hope here. In planning the return of fans, there is no precedent and it is not a known science, it is best educated guesswork. As such, the first priority is to ensure safety so its best to err on the side of caution. Once the first game is out of the way, the council will be able to review what went well and where change may be needed. At that point it wouldn’t surprise me if they announce extra capacity and perhaps a number of tickets for sale for subsequent games.
At the same time though, it does depend on how well the fans follow the rules as if problems arise at the first game then they could just as easily put the remaining two back behind closed doors.
- PM each other.
I would be surprised if the situation was reviewed after this Sunday, they have already anounced season ticket holders only for the next 3 games.
As Steve mentioned in one of his posts access to toilets is a definite 'must' to many old farts like me!
Just hope they have access at half time or we could be flooded!!!

A lot of people I have spoke to aren't even bothering with this season.
To make matters look even worse I see the Council (HBC) are suggesting that people going to the game should have a Virus Test before and after the match. I do not know if this is a scam or if it is for real.

When the snooker world champs were recently on in Sheffield, wasn't there 1400 crammed into The Crucible? I may be wrong, but I wonder if they needed a Covid test before and after they entered the venue?
Yes they did.
Salford welcoming 400 Wigan fans on Saturday.
