Yeah that’s right. Some clubs have been streaming via their own platform (Keighley as one), as they see it as more cost effective. There’s no real financial model in streaming unless you know you’re going to pick up hundreds of people that wouldn’t otherwise have bought a ticket to go the game.
As one offs its probably not, but as part of a future bundle with TV rights it may be worth something in the long run.
Notice there was nearly 2k in at Barrow and 3,700 at Odsal.
Surely scope for the Council et al to get more than the paltry number we had v Haven, especially given the fact our ground is far better than both of those!
What was the attendance for the Whitehaven game? It seems a shame you can buy a ticket for Oldham and Featherstone as an away fan, but you can't buy a ticket for a home game.
Not seen the actual figure but I would suggest that it was less than 1500!

Barrow gave out thousands of season tickets to school kids last week and anyone who turned up before one o’clock for Sunday’s game was allowed in free. Great initiative by Barrow👍👍
I disagree Martin. You're only giving free entrance to some that would've paid anyway. And any new attendees don't return when it's pay to get in.These gimmicks have failed time and time again.Look at Bradford and Huddersfield.

1950 attended Sinbad, more than normal attendance. Side field made into large bar that was full and as they are top of the league I think some may return. You are right of course but it’s a smart initiative that I would like to applaud👍👍

Yeah, fair enough.Good luck to them.

I am not advocate for giving out free tickets but I think if it is done strategically then it can work. Funny enough back in 2016, Rule done two promotions one against saints on Easter Monday and the other against Wigan, those two games were absolutely dire and dreadful to watch in terms of a spectacle. You can only successful promote a winning and entertaining team.

Difference with Barrow is that they own the ground, and so are maximising secondary spend. Getting lots of people in the pitchside marquee on non-match days as well; turned their burger van type offering on a matchday in to a seven-day a week takeaway delivery service.
I was at Oldham on Sunday and although I’m not going to be able to get the Fev this week, I will be at Bradford hopefully in a few weeks. No issues at Oldham, plenty space and very safe on a tiny ground. Bought my tickets online on Friday and was able to sit in a family bubble of 3. Unfortunately cos I don’t have a season ticket I can’t watch my team at home on a ground that holds 13,000.
This club really do need to get this sorted.

I do hope the club/council are reviewing their policy and aren’t just hoping for all regulations to go on June 21st. They really need a plan B
Possibly the big difference between how many we are letting in compared to Bradford & Barrow is the cost of hosting a game.
With their grounds being mostly standing they can have less turnstiles open, and less matchday staff, as once inside you can freely wander around, where as for us to have a higher percentage we would need all four stands open, doubling the cost of the last home game.
Surely there is room in both stands currently open for at least a couple of hundred more, socially distanced?
It does seem a bit daft that you as a non season ticket holder can go to Post Office Road on Sunday but not to Widnes the following week.

If costs are the reason maybe the club/council should say so
