When did we stop playing 2 games over Easter?
2019 was the most recent one, GF v Leigh (h) 30-12, EM v York (a) 10-17
Summer rugby has cost a lot in terms of bank holiday fixtures, of course now we have no local derbies - hence swinton are now our derby game
back in the day Xmas was saints and wire and Easter the same ?
wire and stains played the pies for their other fixtures, massive crowds great atmospheres - all gone for us
I think it was Warrington Good Friday, Saints Easter Monday. And then Warrington Boxing Day and Saints New Year's Day. Always brilliant days.
it's sad that all our derby games are in the top division and we're not, we're being left behind locally and that won't help in terms of fans through the gates. Saints, Warrington and even Leigh way ahead of us. Leigh have got a great opportunity to establish themselves as a SL club now they've improved their recruitment strategy and have a good coach.
Onus is on us to get into Super League and we would then play Warrington on Good Friday again. Imagine Swinton being the big derby game at Easter, oh how the mighty have fallen.

Without a serious wealthy backer, its just not going to happen
We'll never get back.Had a golden opportunity around 2014/2015 to establish ourselves as a SL club permanently but it wasn't to be,for reasons that don't need repeating.
The reason I asked is that I automatically turned up on Monday at 2.45, ready to play Barrow! 😀 😀 😀
Going a bit off-topic but in the olden days - before many people reading this would have been born - we used to play on 3 successive days when Christmas Day fell on a Thursday. A bit of trawling through the RL Record-Keepers database has told me that we actually did this in 1913, 1924, 1930, 1947 and 1952.
At least the traffic wasn't too bad, do they not have media access in Runcorn haha. Respect that you owned up to this.

Yeah, just had a senior moment. I never even realised not seeing any Game Day posts on Twitter! 😋
