Certainly losing your rag won't necessarily sort anything out! But there is an element of truth in many posts tbh. The rant is a letting off of steam from the total frustration that many felt at the end of the game but it does make you think.
Looking back just a few years and we were playing a fast classy game with Hanbury, Brown, Corey Thompson, probably the last team in the Championship to play at that level. Then came the slide and administration.
What we have never done is change our taste for that style of game. Even now we look to our backs to set the game alight and often they do! What we have never really done is accept that the Championship is a different world to SL and demands a much more basic set up to succeed. Leigh, of course are an exception. Degsy has gone for broke, and the best of luck to him. In all honesty he is the first owner to truly step up to the plate and have a real go. Just how successful that will be remains to be seen.
As for us, well we have never grasped the truth that a big, rough, uncompromising pack can win matches against a set of backs without protection, no matter how good the backs may be. The lack of part time forwards living west of the Pennines has been, and still is, a problem.
I have no doubt at all that JK knows just what we need and hopefully his silver tongue can magic a big pack from somewhere. If he can't then who can? His early pointer to get us appreciating dogged defence in the shape of Liam Bent may be a clue!
It does have shades of 'back to the future' tbh. When I started watching Widnes in the 1950's that is precisely what we had, a rough pack and not a lot else, but nobody liked playing us!!!!
@richard-richard hope I'm the realist 🤣yeah apologies shouldn't have got drawn into that ..but end of day ye should be able to give an opinion and use another club as an example n not be accused of "sucking off " that club ....personal opinion is still if we want to make sure we're in that likely top 6 we need far better players than some we currently have n sincerely hope that'll be sorted ...

Who knows what plans JK might have? He sounds impressed with Edge and Spedders for a start.
We need what might be considered a rough pack for this division. Size-wise most props are about 16 stone, not many are heavier, and Grady is in that weight range!
Gilmore has learned to use a pack now and JK has to provide him with the hardware, if he comes!
However, when you look at the Sheffield 'score' pic it makes you doubt again, remember the blatant forward passes!

The point really is that a lot of our current squad do not cut the mustard
however we need to keep a large squad so many will be retained
next season we will be up against fev and Toulouse
maybe barrow and possibly york
we should be aiming at top 4 at least
Agreed that we need a pack that will challenge the opposition more. Opposition packs generally have been more aggressive and that has been enough to stop our game.
The tactics that JK may well use are much like Batley/Bradford but with a sharper backline. Just how much others will afford to buy could spoil that line however!
We have capable players who may not be stand outs but who will be good enough to back up new, more aggressive, signings.
