I'd give him a go off the bench, can't be worse than the performances we have seen over the past month.
True can't be any worse mate. What annoys me is Batley and Sheffield do better than us on crunchie crowds. 🙈
What an absolute disgusting thread. A young lad making his way in the game and the only thing some of can do is call him names, one of which is DISGUSING but its what i expect from him but others should know better. I just hope to God he doesn't see this. 😟 😟
Sorry mate, got it all wrong Cracking young talent, the next Kurt Sorensen

Martin, you are quite right regarding both this thread and my comments on WT. I apologise, because what I seen in todays 40 minutes, without Mr T was on of the worst performances I can ever recall. In truth, I bet Will is glad he didn’t rock up with that shower of shite.
Part of the problem is people continually bringing up Tilleke as some sort of solution to our problems. He isnt, he may be a great lad and he may have heart but he is not a championship standard Prop, much like Lyons is not a Championship standard Half. And then peoples pent up frustrations get released targeting individuals.
Our current issues are not down to them, they were offered a contract and would be silly not to take that up, and im sure they try their best. But their best is not good enough at this level, and it is unlikely it ever will be.
Tilleke isn’t the answer and, at the minute, isn’t good enough.
But I would rather watch him try his best than some of the other, more experienced, wasters.
Good morning TT 😘
Unfortunately he’s just not good enough and I think it speaks volumes that he can’t even get a game in our team at present, and he’s definitely not the answer to our prayers either. It’s a shame for him but the sooner the club realises the better for us as it frees up a spot to bring someone in who will actually play.
Not quite sure why Will is getting it on here when he's not even playing. He's always had a dig when he's played which is more than can be said for some of the players in the last month.
Why he isn't playing isn't necessarily a reflection on him, it's JK who picks the team and recent results show he's got that wrong. Didn't he get man of the match last time he played?
I agree with the above post. There are so called ‘established’ players at Widnes that are far more accountable than WT. Jack Owens has been absolutely dreadful, yet plays every week, without fear of being dropped, he’s not alone. Injuries are catching up with Danny Craven now too. There are a hell of a lot of players that are stealing a living. As has been said by many before, the recruitment and retention is questionable at best. I still cannot believe we haven’t heard a thing off the transparent board.
It's ridiculous to have a go at Will Tilleke. This ire should be directed at the club (and the game). How is he meant to get any better if he doesn't play. Where is the plan to develop him as a player, what is the pathway for him to become a regular first team player. Same for Ollie Brooks. They should get agents if they haven't already and ask these questions. Of the 25 players we have on the books I reckon 13 were involved in Widnes Vikings Junior Pathways either Scholarship, Academy or both. That's gone now any young Widnes junior players have no pathway to play for Widnes apart from joining the Junior pathways of rival clubs. The players we are bringing in are either not good enough or not trying hard enough.
What does the Club want to be, what is its ethos, what does it stand for.
I knew exactly what is stood for before Jimmy Rule crapped on us from a great height. I have no idea now.
All I see is mediocre crap with no plan, no vision and no idea how the club intends to make it better.
At 60 minutes into yesterday's match I was going to vote for Will as our M.O.M. then up comes Ant Walker to nick it.

But hasn't that always been the case though (re: not playing)? Ultimately, your squad is more than the 17 (now 18) players you have to select.
There will always be players who do not get picked, even with a 'pathway'. Tilleke would be too old to play academy, and if the club had reserves, then it would need another 17 players to fulfil the games (in reality, you would need more to cover for injuries, which then means when everyone is fit, there'll be a player like Tilleke not playing for the reserves).
He's been on DR with Rochdale - have they deemed him not good enough?
The issue was its ridiculous to have a go at Will Tilleke. Who is a Widnes Lad who wants to play for Widnes.
If anything he is to loyal for his own good. As Tom Gilmore was in his younger days. He needs to play to improve as did Tom earlier in his career.
The whole system is not fit for purpose.
Once players are older than 18 it is difficult for them to get game time. Even for the Top Clubs have a limited number of reserve players, they fulfill their limited reserve fixtures roughly every 2 weeks with a small reserve squad supplemented by Academy Players. Saints, Wigan, Leeds, Hull, Warrington are competitive against each other hopefully. Leigh have abandoned their reserves, Salford, Newcastle, London, Bradford are not competitive. Huddersfield, Wakefield, Cas, Hull KR somewhere in the middle.
Catalans in a better position with French League able to provide game time.
Widnes loaned players to Rochdale who loan their own players to Salford Reserves. Some Young players over 18 have no idea where they will play week to week.
Widnes are stuck in the middle. They need 30 players for the season but nowhere outside of the 17 man match day squad where lads can play.
I don't know what the solution is. There is no money.
I would probably allow Super League Clubs to take over or set up League 1 Clubs. This is what effectively happens in Australia. Possibly with some sort College Feeder System for Championship Clubs. IMO Widnes need to set up an Academy (Cat 3) in conjunction possibly with Cronton. As Wire have with Priestly (Cat 3) players who shine are promoted to their Cat 1 Academy or given game time in the Reserves to see how they go.
What are your thoughts on this mess.
