The real measurement of were we are at.

Looking at the league table I would say that whilst the top three are beyond us barring a freakishly outstanding run of results 4th to 6th spots are still up for grabs. Though it goes without saying we are going to have to start beating some of the better sides there’s no reason we shouldn’t be aiming at the playoffs. If we don’t win our next two home games then it probably is going to be a step too far though.

Gary Hetherington (and Ralph Rimmer) were in the directors box yesterday…

Say no more!

Apart from bradfraud we have played our hardest away fixtures, 7 at home to come, if we put consistent performances like Sunday, top 4 is distinctly possible

injuries could stop that - we need a few more players, Doro for one would be useful, as I feel jewitt and cook will not make many appearances and Tomkins may not contribute at all - O’Neill is a great replacement though.

On the pitch Sundays performance shows that we can stay in games when the going gets tough and things are not going our way . The key is to repeat that and not let it be a one off . As others have said a couple of extra forwards would help that .

Off the pitch as MT says once all restrictions are eased the best measurement will be the crowd numbers at home games .

I'd be interested to see what other board users expectations around crowds are , personally I'd be delighted between 3000 to 3500 .

First home game post restrictions is scheduled to be Fev in July. Allowing for them bringing a few hundred I would say less than 3k would be disappointing so I'm pretty much in agreement with you on that score. Anywhere near 4k would be an excellent crowd.

Don’t play Featherstone away and York and Halifax should be within our range

I think about 2,500 fans for our home games is realistic. They may be delaying restrictions by a few weeks so we need to focus on allowing the maximum number of fans to purchase tickets and letting fans into some sections of the South Stand.

Last home gate before lockdown was given at around 2800 and some said there wasn't even that many there.Probably lost the interest of even more by now.

It's all swings and roundabouts. We've also played the three easiest home games 🙂

The crowd for the last home game before lockdown may have been affected by some fans being worried about Covid infection. Though I suppose this might still be the case in the future given the success of the Government scaremongering (which I’m not saying was unjustified given the situation. Many people have been left hugely overestimating their own personal risk and I know of people who will barely leave their houses even now they have been vaccinated. Sad situation.

On another point how good was O'Neil  on Sunday? Seemed to really respond to having a vocal crowd in. Loved his attitude and determination.  For an 18 year old he can put some shots in! Long may it continue and rub off on the rest of the squad.

He’s excellent, just a shame he’s not one of our contracted players. Surely has a very bright future in the game.

indeed but the point we are making is if we can keep the team and performance from Sunday - which on paper was the second hardest game, we should do well

batley away is never an easy game, admittedly dewsbury at home should be a win, but we were pants, marginally better against York.

forthcoming games I am very positive with, if we get no injuries and hopefully recruit.

probably not see jewitt or Tomkins for a long time, if at all. Cook ? Not sure he can do half a game, which leaves us short in the forwards

backs beginning to gel

They need to switch off their televisions.
