The job of replacing almost an entire pack of forwards - tough job for Coleman.

LMS is leaving Saints to join the Merseyside Fire & Rescue Service, I have read. Now, he would be worth a years contract - old or not -  he is a hard working grafter.

...and a nearby part time job may suit him.

@sunny he's retiring from the sport.

I doubt very much he'd risk his training to play p/t rugby.

Sam Wilde is a probationary police officer, it suites him.👍

With Keighley relegated surely a good player such as Brad Walker wouldn't fancy third division rugby ?

@martin completely different tbh LMS will have to do a full on 17 week course next year as part of his training,or that's what it said in the article anyway.

It also says his hanging up his boots so maybe he's had enough 🤷‍♂️

LMS is definitely the type I would like at Widnes if tempted to play part time. If his 17 weeks training starts next month then he be finished February time for the new season. 😂 Hopefully sign a few big forwards.

He may have been a hard working grafter in the past. But, if you've seen him play this year you'll notice that he takes a carry then stands around with his hands on his hips afterwards.  He shouldn't really have played on this year at saints but, they're short on forwards.

I think trying to sign a player who is of the mindset that it is time to retire would be a mistake. Players generally know when their bodies have had enough or when they are no longer up for it.

Agree and as posted above he starts his Fire Training in June so a No from me now His body has told him had enough likewise with Grady, so best keeping to players committed to success. Do need a few older heads in the team, but not like Amor topping up his Pension.

@sinbad

He seems to have fallen down the ratings despite being seen as a developing talent.

Maybe at some point he will have to decide if FT rugby is paying off? Could he be a possible stand off candidate?

Will the club be announcing the leaving players soon?
season is over, no need to say where they are bound, but would be good to find out where the holes are

with regard to LMS and the dud, no thanks

Last night's game between Bradford and Sheffield left no doubts- not a great deal of science just loads of batter and barge.

That was a good indication of where the game is going!!!!

Honestly..... you're saying no to players who have played a large number of games in SL in 2023?

Who do you think we are, world champions?

Luke Thompson is coming back from Aus and his dad is from Halton View, should we go for him or has he been injured too much in 2023?

I get it they are veterans but for gods sake we finished in the bottom half of the Championship. You couldn't make it up, honestly.
