Just watching this game and wondering why Doncaster have all these big name players in their squad? How can Doncaster manage to get them? Would Widnes ever dare to even think about signing them loan or anything. ( might be crunchie in superleague these players but very good at this level)
If they live in Yorkshire and are PT players we have no chance of signing them, apparently.
They do have some relatively big names but maybe the squad doesn’t cost as much as it might appear. Fonua and Faraimo are on loan from Cas. Ferres has been a top level player but he is 37.
@widnes77 being a PT player doesn’t mean you just have a part time job - it means you have a FT day job aswell! For example, player living in Widnes, in from work 5pm, dashes home to get changed, straight back out to get to training, barely time to say hello to family/wife/kids - how would that work if you lived in Yorkshire and had to get to Widnes?

that’s the reason Johnson left without playing a game for us. He swooped jobs started getting home at six and had a baby. Asked to relieved from his contract and then signed for Bradford
@mw46 yeah, if you look at it from the worst case scenario, it doesn't look attractive
@mw46 That, I understand, is the reason Michael Ward didn't sign for this season. He was a strong rumour this time last year but, re-signed at Batley due to work and the commute.
