@vikingfox71 previous years have been inflated due to this, this years have been accurate.
It will be hard to increase in the short term as it's a 3 year average. With no promotion and many games against league 1 oposition a 3k average will be even harder to achieve/maintain. We are up against it that's for sure. Ride it out until all this IMG nonsense is over?
However if RFL commercial can't increase the TV deal from it's current level of £21m we can't go into Superleague without major investment/new owners anyway.
The only reason York, Wakefield and Leigh are in is down to investment, initially in the Championship and then building once in SL. Last time we got in, it was with about £1m from SOC.
We simply can't afford a full time SL squad without either a massively enhanced TV deal, major investment from new owners or both. The potential of a better TV deal could attract new owners. Would you want to bank roll a SL team to the tune of £1.5 million per season, even if you did have money. I know I wouldn't in the long term.
We need a load of money, that's going to be the only way
Performance - need cash to go full time to dominate the league,
Stadium - need cash for the extras like led, big screen
Finance - need assets/be cash rich to make the books look good
Community - if we're expanding into new territories, then that will need to be financed
Fandom - can make some gains, but big gains will need the improvements to everything else
@dan1 so that means Dan we don't deserve or belong in super league it will end up 10 teams all with money and I'm afraid the likes of us cas hudds(eventually) won't belong as it'll be a cash rich league
super league teams are losing so much money per year there's no way the want to share money no matter how short sighted that is (and if super league teams are losing millions I'd love too see Bradford profitable accounts ) obv done by wonka accountants
That's the biggest hurdle increasing the crowd although I don't understand we constantly announce 2500 yet our average is 2100 ???
if we can't give tickets away what can we do ? Have more teams playing before and htime with concessions for parents ? Offer super league clubs season ticket holders tickets ?? But then it becomes unfair on your own fans who don't get a discount it really is a struggle
That is a possibility, as long as the deal is reciprocated. Wakefield's high end STs (Gold Silver etc) include a ST for Dewsbury Rams. DR will be happy, as their fanbase is gradually dying, and the chance to sell more beer & burgers will be more than welcome (feeder club maybe, excuse the pun!) I don't know what the Kick-Back to Dewsbury is?
If one of our local SL Clubs offered our ST holder's entrance to some of their Friday night fixtures for say £10-15, then I'm sure a few might fancy taking it up, before our game on the Sunday. What's not to like about that?

The simple fact is we aren’t going up to super league with our current owners/board. That means that the club either looks for an investment for a large stake or full takeover but what do you get from that purchase. Widnes Vikings doesn’t have any assets. We are a part time club run like a part time club and that’s what it is. As mentioned before the reason we got in last time is because SOC put in big money. That’s what’s needed but for now we’ll carry on and hopefully have a competitive part time club in the championship
@pauliewalnuts I hope we don't do that. We want Widnes fans watching Widnes. Saints already sign our best local players. I will watch Widnes and the occasional international.
I'm never going at watch Saints, Warrington or Wigan.

Season Ticket holders have a season ticket to watch Widnes, it has nothing to do with not watching Widnes. It would be a bonus to have the option to go and watch SL RL, whether you take it up or not, that would be up to the individual. Personally, depending on what games are on offer, I'd happily weigh up the option (I watch it on the TV, anyway). I'd be more likely to go and watch a Leigh game than one of the other 3. Then Widnes on the Sunday, as normal.

I think it would be a disaster personally. If you took your kids to watch Widnes, then took them to Saints, they wouldn't want to come back. I already know some Widnes families that watch Saints and Warrington because the kids want to see the teams and players they see on the telly. Encouraging it would be foolhardy IMO.
But having said that when I started watching, before motorways, we used to watch Saints, and Wire if Widnes were away. That said Widnes was 'our' club!!!!

My dad was a cunning old so and so and my first game was Wire v NZ!!!

I was pitch side on the NZ '25' Bev got the ball on the 25, beat every NZ player with his sidesteps.
I never watched soccer after that!!!!
