not sure getting rid of finnegan will help really, unless the new coach can get the injured players instantly available
A coach works with the players he has available, not the ones that aren't.
On paper, our squad looks OK, so the problem is obviously that the players do not respect the coach, probably because he is clueless.
I, personally would rather have seen the money spent on a player who will probably never pull on a Widnes shirt (and I mean no disrespect to the lad , but with such a serious injury, this was always a risk ) on recruiting a decent coach.
As mentioned (in other words) , we are a ship without a rudder, with a big hole under the waterline , with no wind for the sails and no food or fresh water.
In my opinion, if the captain is not replaced there Could be a mutiny.
We are desperate to save the season and for me, that would be achieved if we were fielding a team that looked like they wanted to be on the field, and playing a brand of rugby which was entertaining ,winning more than we lost and laying a foundation for next season.
Will the board sack the coach or will he do the honourable thing and fall on his sword. I doubt it.

I was looking for an improvement on last season’s record as a realistic aim for 2022. Seems a forlorn hope at the moment.
