Thatto Heath Challenge Cup

With us playing Friday night I went to the game today as it was only £4 entry. Thatto Heath by far the better side in terms of size/strength and speed winning 78 - 10.

McKenzie Buckley who signed for us last season from Saints was playing 2nd row for them. But the 2 that stood out were number 11 Jamie Holroyd and number 10 Kye Siyani. I dont follow the amateur game so much anymore but googled them and Holroyd is actually from Widnes and was at Widnes academy. Siyani was at Saints academy.

I dont know if they would be interested in playing semi pro or not but Holroyd in particular would do a job for us 100%

I guess we will get another look at them in a couple of weeks. I obviously expect us to win, but I think they will give us a decent game especially for the first 40 mins.

Watched the game myself ...holroyd was very impressive ..looks a bit body aswel ...they'll be a bit of a handful early on but I'm still confident of a big win assuming we take it seriously

@cumbria-viking yes looked about 6"4 or 6"5 from pitch side. Think he's 21/22 years old.

@dan1 bearing in mind the gaffer shouts that he'd like to give opportunities to players from the community game I'd say he was worth an invite for a trial period...hard to judge completely on the back of that opposition but if he shows up well against us I'd say it was worth the offer
