I will await evidence that this coach has been damaged, until then I'm afraid I don't believe it.
All seems very strange I must say.
Maybe just non match going dickheads?
What object caused the broken window?
Or did it crack when crossing the speed bumps in the car park?
Swinton players & staff were in the Bridge Suite until at least 5.30, enjoying their victory. Not saying there wasn't a broken window, but what caused it could have been many things.
Paulie xx
Precisely, maybe if this was a super league game against warrington I could envisage some chavs bricking a window, but Swinton, nah, I will re-assess once a) Images are provided or b) either clubs make a statement, until then I think we can take what Spelly says with a pinch of salt.
Unless there is any proof of this coach being "smashed up" as it's been described on social media, I would suggest a full boycott of Swinton away next year wherever they may be playing, especially after them robbing our fans of parking charges knowing full well it would be their biggest gate of the year. If we want to watch Saints academy players we can nip ten mins down the road to Ruskin drive and watch them there. That said, I hope Swinton will be relegated anyway, forever living in Salford's shadow, so hopefully their grubby players and lying fans won't be an issue for us anymore despite their win today.

Jesus Widdy, say what you really mean, don’t sit on the fence 😂🏁
Swinton team full of grubs. The OTT patting Dixon on the head after his error (if there was any comaraderie in our side they'd have been wading in after that, only Millar did), un-necessarily booting ball into crowd after a try nearly taking a 4 year old girls head off in the process.
are there any photos of this incident before slinging mud, as I've never heard of this happening at Widnes game before?
a real low getting beat by this dross today, sorry I'm not in the mood for high fiving opposition fans. Hope Swinton go down.
I'd have no issues of a team coming to Widnes and getting beat by a 'team full of grubs'. Teams should come to Widnes and know they've been in a game, know it will be physical and not want to play them again.
Doesn't happen. If Widnes had more grubbiness in them, they might be able to beat teams in the bottom 3. Hatton only did it yesterday as it was his ex-teammates.
Swinton did what many teams have done this season, and found a way to win against a team with its own weaknesses. Finding a way to win is a key ingredient in modern sport - and we do not appear to have it. It is a shame that we can't exploit their weaknesses in the same way - and for the reasons already shared on this site many times this season. COYV!
If we boycotted the ground of every team that has beaten us then we wouldn’t be attending many games!

I don't necessary agree with this. Of course Swinton 'found a way to win', but they didn't have to look very hard. Finding a way to win usually applies when either the game is close, or you're 'up against it' (Wigan found a way to win against Warrington in the Cup having 12 men). Swinton simply applied themselves how I expect any team to apply itself, and go into the game with the right attitude to perform, it's a non-negotiable in Rugby League and actually something I thought a John Kear team usually has.
Swinton won yesterday because they applied their attitude significantly better than Widnes did. They also attacked much better and had some flow to their attack. Widnes played like strangers with the ball and only scored due to bash overs from Lawton, Davies and Walker. I had much higher hopes for Gilmore as an organiser but that was non-existant yesterday. Owens had another poor game, Lyons tries but doesn't create much, Johnstone is probably the most disappointing this season and doesn't look fit enough. Looking at the teams yesterday, the Widnes 17 should not lose to Swinton. Jamie Ellis is probably the biggest half back I've seen since Owen Craigie and he ran the show particularly second half - he's probably gone back in the changing room laughing at how we couldn't stop him.
We got back to 18-24 and actually had a chance to get a draw (which we wouldn't have deserved) Everyone in the ground knew Ellis would set up for the drop goal yet he had all the time in the world to make it, killing any chance to get anything out the game.
I feel for the fans that have paid to go to France this weekend, unless there is a change this week - I fear a very long evening on Saturday.
I’m just treating it is a short holiday in good weather and have written the game off. I’ll go to the match obviously but I won’t let it spoil the trip when we inevitably get battered.
Hi Viking man
And that is indeed, your prerogative, although much of what we both contend I suggest, reaches the same conclusions. Swinton did find a way to win, and for all your observations about the Widnes tries and tactics and failures of individual players, much of which I agree with, Swinton scored 12 points from howlers by us (allowing a ball to bounce, and failing to field another simple grubba kick, nothing created for themselves) and a barge over spin out of a tackle try from a weaker 1 on 1 tussle near the line. Add to that a drop goal and a penalty under the posts, their flare was nothing to write home about either.
Notwithstanding this, I think there is too much negativity on here and not enough intelligent discussion about where the solutions lie. This Swinton team had a clearly overweight has been half back (who incidently destroyed us playing for York at their place 2 seasons ago and is still better than anything we have), a smattering of second grade St Helens "stars" of the future (one who went off injured!), and a number of rejects from last seasons Widnes squad - am embarrasing combination of factors which we could not surmount. This was predominantly due to atrocious error count with handling mistakes and another startling lack of creativity, poor defence 1 on 1 and absolutely no field position as a result.
I wish we had the answers on here, but as a club, we must keep trying to find them! COYV!
