Was speaking to a friend who works at saints and apparently widnes have approached a few saints fringe players and the word is they have signed at least 2 SL players from other SL teams for next year.
He doesnt know who and wont say about the saints players they have approached. But This does sound promising for next year and must be some truth in the bigger budget and possibly going full-time

The question is what cash?
@richard-richard I don't know....but if we have some mystery benefactor I won't be complaining
If you count Amor & JJ we have already signed two SL players.
You seem to have plenty of inside information.
If the previously rumoured 2x10 does come to fruition, it only makes sense that all avenues are exhausted to make sure we are in it.
We can only guess I suppose.
Maybe someone like Backhouse has tipped his hat.
Wherever the money has come from let's hope its spent wisely.
But have we? If we had, why hasn't it been announced by either of the clubs?
Why the secrecy?
I would guess that the two players concerned are still contracted to their respective clubs. Those clubs might not be happy to release their names.
Don't think that there is any mystery about Amor, but Hull FC are in dark place atm and have much bigger things to worry about.
There is also the future shape of the league structure to be decided (reputedly the end of Sept!!)
That could change many clubs spending plans in terms of timing their effort, plus possible SL players dropping out of SL. There may be contracts ready to sign but dependent on just what the new order will be.

Hull have already announced that JJ has left. He and his partner Rachel are looking at houses around the Church view and their little girl is now in nursery here. Defo signed👍👍
The variety of options regarding the SL changes makes Championship club planning like a minefield. There are a few like Keighly pushing the boat out and I suppose that there is an argument for team building whatever option is chosen.
Better to be a top level team next year than a mid-leaguer. That should make further development the year after easier provided that the crowds improve and we have money to spend the year after.
The fact that we have been there and know the pitfalls is a plus, also that the fruits of our Academy are now there to be seen throughout the SL.
Glad that I'm not making the hard decisions!!!!
Thanks for the info.
Like most other posters on here, I'm now keenly waiting for confirmation of the (many?) other players we have signed.
