Terrible appointment from day one, completely out of his depth. Players revolted in the end by the looks of things to. We need an organ grinder not the monkey, thank goodness the board acted pdq. We are still a big club & deserve better no matter what the happy clappers on this board come out with

Good luck to him firstly.

Secondly, there is no obvious favourite, Duffy and Webster have both played here and have experience at this level.

Henderson if he could be enticed would be a good shout, but perhaps Bradford would be after him too?

At least some action has been taken, would preferably like to hear from the Chairman rather than the CEO who is implicated in the failure of the recruitment too.

Absolutely. When was the last time the CEO communicated to the fans through the club?

Not Duffy for me, not much different than Finnigan.  Henderson talks well, I like Leon Pryce and he had a stint coaching at Workington. Crarey at Barrow has done a good job. Being part time with no academy we arnt the draw we used to be.

We need someone with a bit of charisma, a leader, a motivator. Not someone that's been either a good ex player or that's got all the coaching qualifications. For the head coach, especially on a shoe string budget with part time players, the most important thing for me is the coaches personality to be able to get the players giving 100% and feeling confident.

Something had to change in the light of results and poor performances. Duffy, Kear, Henderson, Ward, Webster, Brown, Murray and who else? Henderson for me, but whoever we bring in will have the same squad of players and will have his work cut out to change things around. I think most fans will accept players showing real commitment and fight in games, win or lose.

Good luck to Finnegan wherever he goes. I don’t believe that he deserved the personal abuse he got on here, but I guess it comes with the job and any new manager will be getting similar abuse unless there is a quick turnaround in performances.

Bradfords potential 6 man list is John Duffy, Danny Ward, Scott Naylor, Dennis Betts, Andrew Henderson and Richard Marshall.

Duffy left Leigh, Ward is attack coach at Rosslyn Park RU after leaving London, Naylor left Oldham, Betts is director of rugby at Newcastle, Henderson is head of rugby at Keighley and Marshall is the academy coach at Warrington.

Henderson is a good option as he's worked locally at Warrington but is now at a league 1 club after Daryl Powel brought his own staff in at Warrington.  Widnes is a step up from Keighley, I think 🤔

Can I assume that the Board wouldn’t have parted company with Simon unless they had someone else lined up as coach?

Or perhaps not !!

Had to happen sooner rather than later. It's not personal but a coach takes on the job knowing full well the buck stops with him.Injuries haven't helped of course but Barrow beat us here before the the injury crisis kicked in.A coach has to play the hand he is dealt and get the best from what he has. That hasn't happened.Apart from results the recent gate numbers will have been a factor too. From 3600 home fans to 2200,within weeks.

He wasn't dealt a hand he chose his own cards.

He never got personal abuse it was just fans telling it as it was, he was crunchie at his job end of.

Lets hope the CEO is next.

@former-chemic Funny that. The Board are criticised for not sacking Finnigan and now they have done so, it seems they are still wrong! The list connected with Bradford is probably similar to the potential coaches we will be looking at (but probably not Betts!) but Bradford will be the more attractive and probably better paid position. You never know, there may be a surprise appointment and if you believe posts on here, it will be one of Finney’s mates!

I think this is the crux of the matter. Declining crowds and plenty leaving before the end on Sunday who may not fancy returning. Get a new coach in place for the Whitehaven game and some good publicity and we should be able to bring some fans back into the fold. Obviously we need to be winning games to keep them on board though.

We are assuming he’s been sacked, but it wouldn’t surprise me if he asked to go. One thing he isn’t is a fool, and he may well have taken a view of the recent abuse he’d received along with the players attitudes and decided he’d had enough?

Either way, he seemed a decent bloke and I wish him well.

@steve it was by mutual consent which usually is the nice way of saying you are sacked.
