Shame he’s gone as he’s been good for us always performing well and probs goes under the radar. But with his work life changing nobody can blame him and wish him all the best.

Big miss. This is his best season for us by far.

Need two second rowers now- Lannon play there or will he play in the ‘middle’?

@viking25  Lannon is a second row or loose forward not a prop.

Well big shock - been outstanding this year, but if he has changed his profession it’s better for him - he will be player of the season for the crusaders

good luck to him

@ditton-donkey

Agreed - he has been, and is, arguably our most consistent player over the last couple of seasons and will be sorely missed.

Good luck, Sam, in your new career.

Will be sorely missed but it’s a short career and laying foundations for life outside the game has to be a priority. Good luck Sam. AC will need some astute recruitment to replace him as well as possibly Gregson and Langers. 👍

Good luck to Sam in his new role.  That's an equally tough one as well.

I always thought he ran a good line for a second row which is why he scored as many tries as he did.  He'll be missed, but departs with his head high and, I am sure, the best wishes of the fans.

Roby will be a miss. Good player with a touch of quality. Take that Batley game out of it and he’s played well in every game this season.

Will miss his versatility too. Full back, centre and half back.

Roby a good squad player- as we have seen recently it is imperative to have them- hope we are not going to have a really small squad next year!

Sad to see Wilde go too, been a good player down the years.

Nobody knows the budget and money the club have available. Crusaders are lucky to have a Dubai investment taken over them. Something we could do with to be honest and unfortunately it seems we are spending from our attendances, or on number of WVIPS members.

I get that budgets are presumably tight, but if you think about it logically Walker, Roby, Dixon and Wilde are all gone- if we get Maizen and Lannon as rumoured, we still are 2 down numerically on a smallish squad size- although if we can pick up bonus signings like Murray and Reilly gets and stays fit then maybe that is slightly mitigating.

There has been a few gone and it will be interesting the squad size next year. Personally I would like a 27 man squad and only use lians and dual when needed. Oldham seem to have money people at the club and Crusaders have that Dubai investment. I am pretty envious because I would love us to have a sugar daddy. So I do understand the control of the budget, unless we get loads of WVIPS members, or a rich fan putting the money into the club then we won't improve much more. Listening to Colemans interview he wants to improve slowly the next few years and get the community more involved.
