On the gate collection and security is probably quite expensive and in the internet era very old fashioned.
Can't see that many supporters are really put off by it.
Increasingly the way things are going; even in Non-League Football.

@sandgroper Not many put off? Well hundreds of people bought tickets at the office on match days last season, so clearly there is demand. Payment need not be literally at the gate, but opening the office on match day for ticket purchase seems hardly a big ask, especially as merchandise sales are also made.

@macc-viking Apparently the office at South East corner will be open for ticket sales on the day, but not the turnstiles. I guess that is a council decision, but the club are selling tickets on the day at the office/ shop.
